Carrie’s converted church project is truly amazing. I am so lucky I got to see it in person. Very clever work and use of space on this challenging project.

Carrie was wonderful to work with as the architect and design consultant for our new lake house. She was a good listener, very responsive and easy to work with. She brought us many ideas and introduced us to several building concepts and materials that we adopted and also industry contacts that we used in building our house to meet passive house standards. She also worked well with our GC. We truly enjoyed working with Carrie, and most important, we could not be happier with the design and construction of our finished house!

Carrie designed and oversaw a tricky kitchen renovation in our home. Having used and lived in the kitchen for half a year, we're so glad we worked with Carrie on the project. Our kitchen is wonderfully functional, and Carrie's design choices have created an inspiring, cozy environment in a place where we live much of our lives.

Carrie is wonderful! We worked with her when she teamed up with fellow-architect Adrienne Swiatocha for a second floor renovation and expansion of our Green Street row house. Carrie brought creative design, a can-do approach to problem-solving, and excellent organization to the project, involving us in choices while helping to reduce the universe to something manageable. She and Adrienne did a great job of divvying up tasks to avoid duplication and subbing in for one another as needed. We felt like the project was very much a team effort between our architects, the builder, and ourselves, and are very pleased with the results. We highly recommend her!

Carrie’s kitchen design perfectly captured our ideal design aesthetic, blending a light-filled Scandinavian feel with Arts and Crafts elements consistent with our historic home. She quickly visualized design options with 3D rendering software and helped us efficiently choose the right materials and layout to realize our vision. She has an extensive knowledge of options for unique, stunning countertops, flooring, tilework, and hardware, and in several cases arranged for discounted pricing through her vendor relationships. Carrie was responsive, thorough, detail-oriented, patient, an excellent listener, and deeply knowledgeable about the small details that make a kitchen functional. Our new kitchen is more beautiful than we could have imagined.

We wholeheartedly recommend Carrie at Foster Design Farm. Back in March 2021, we had just got the keys to our first house and had the idea of remodeling the kitchen before our old lease ran out in July. We feel so incredibly lucky to have had Carrie's help and support in this crazy plan, or we would never have gotten it done, let alone ended up with a kitchen that feels like a work of art which is also incredibly functional. Carrie did a fantastic job at every step of the way, from concept and vision, to detailed layout and design, to materials and fixtures, all the way through working with our contractors to get it done. Coming into the remodel, we just knew we wanted some more storage space, and weren't sure what to do with the existing large front entry room. Carrie started with a handful of design concepts that helped us think through how we really wanted to use the space. We ended up loving one of her more ambitious ideas, which included combining the entry with the existing kitchen, adding a banquette, and a slat wall divider to separate off a small mud room. With a basic concept in place, Carrie helped us work through all the details, from kitchen layouts (13 foot island!) to suppliers to detailed cabinet plans to colors to sourcing materials and fixtures. She took what would otherwise have been a completely overwhelming set of choices and broke them down into a series of manageable decisions, and we couldn’t be happier with the results. Some of our favorite features are her artfully designed touches, including the banquette with custom table, slat wall, storage hutch, and garden window with wraparound tile work. When it came time to actually do the work, Carrie coordinated with our contractors early and often. Her detailed architectural drawings made most things go super smoothly, but when there were hitches or questions she was always available and worked with our contractors to resolve them quickly. And we got the project done only a couple weeks late (due to COVID-related delays out of everyone’s control) and have been appreciating our lovely new kitchen every day since. Working with Carrie throughout this process was a real pleasure. She was always really cued into our emotions around the process, and careful to help us make decisions that match our needs and preferences, but also frank when she felt something wouldn't work. Whenever we were on the fence, she went above and beyond to help us find the perfect pieces, and her realistic renderings at each step of the way made it much easier for us to visualize the options and pick something that we would really love. And she did nearly all of this remotely from 2000 miles away. Six months later, we’re still finding that the kitchen exactly meets our needs and desires, and we get lots of compliments from everyone who sees it

Carrie Foster is incredibly talented and dedicated to her craft. When her newborn was under 3 months old, she visited with us (while masked & pumping!) to complete her initial assessment and discussion with us. She helped my husband and I with the overwhelming task of redesigning our first floor layout. In our traditional colonial home, she created a demo plan to expand our kitchen into our dining space including the relocation of the HVAC system. Carrie developed multiple schemes for us to review & was always open to feedback. Her revisions came quickly, and she never made us feel that any idea was outside of a real possibility. Mostly, she listened to our needs and wants with attentive patience. We have spent multiple hours on Zoom with her while she walked us thru design work. She is incredibly prompt at answering emails and phone calls. The attention to detail cannot be overlooked as Carrie introduced us to the different cabinet styles, window styles, light fixture options, lighting circuits and countertop advice. We had no idea how involved a kitchen remodel would be! We are so lucky to have found Carrie to work with and hold her in the highest regards.

Carrie is a great architect and wonderful person. She redesigned our entire 180 year old house, which is no small feat given the idiosyncrasies of such old construction. She listened to our wants and needs, made helpful suggestions, and then just made things work. Carrie was enthusiastic, responsive, and punctual throughout the entire process, and was integral in keeping us under budget and on schedule. I would recommend her to anyone, you won't regret it.

Carrie designed and project managed the renovation of my Victorian, remodelling a kitchen, two bathrooms, and a living space. She was wonderful to work with, very collaborative, organized and communicative. The project was smooth and I'm extremely happy with the outcome.
