We can't recommend Gallery KBNY enough! We used Gallery for a fairly large renovation and felt like we really developed a great relationship with the team. It's the type of partnership where you knew you could trust Alex, Miguel, and Michael in doing the right thing and would help make decisions that were in our best interest. This was our first renovation and we were so happy with the way it turned out. By using Gallery, they made the renovation as stress-free as possible and the lessons we learnt from the process were invaluable. Even now as I hear about and see other's renovation, I know we went with the best firm out there.

5 STARS ISN’T ENOUGH. THEY DESERVE A CONSTELLATION! When we began planning the gut renovation of our Upper East Side co-op, we knew we were taking on an enormous challenge. Our apartment hadn't been renovated in decades, and every wall was a mystery box we were too afraid to open. We planned to reconfigure the layout, replace the HVAC system, upgrade the electrical infrastructure, add a powder room, and rebuild virtually every inch of the apartment from the ground up. Add in NYC’s famously complex regulations and co-op requirements, and we asked ourselves: “Who could we possibly trust to pull off this miracle?” We interviewed several design-build firms but kept coming back to one name: Alex Ushyarov, Director of Business Development at Gallery KBNY. What distinguished Alex was his rare combination of technical expertise, calm leadership, honesty, responsiveness, and extraordinary problem-solving ability. No matter how many curveballs emerged — and in our apartment, there were many — Alex approached the challenge with professionalism, composure, and multiple solutions. Even our building’s demanding architect was impressed with Alex! Besides leading the project, Alex assembled an absolute dream team: Designer Kate Zharkova, whose eye for beauty and flow helped us imagine possibilities we would never have seen on our own. Project Manager Leo DeGiuseppe, whose meticulous oversight kept us three steps ahead of whatever the apartment tried to throw at us. And Project Coordinator / Design Assistant Morgan Depont kept communication flowing, details from slipping, and even had a gift for choosing paint colors. Together, they transformed a challenging apartment into a beautiful, functional showstopper! We did an up/down apartment combo with Avi and his team and could not be happier. Their work was on time, on budget and very high quality. Having one firm handle everything was seamless and took so much of the stress surrounding logistics out of the process. We have done construction several times over the years and this was BY FAR the best experience we’ve had. Highly recommend. Our project manager, Miguel, was special.

We started working with Avi and the Gallery team on a gut renovation in January 2023. We worked hand in hand to completely redesign the apartment and we could not be happier with the final product and are so glad we chose to work with Gallery. Three particular areas stood out: 1) navigating the architectural and construction processes between a demanding coop board appointed architect and NYC’s departments and regulations; 2) an incredible design team that understood our design vision and narrowed down a massive number of appliance, stone, wood, hardware, lighting, door, fixture, closet and other choices to selections that really resonated with us and saved us an incredible amount of time from searching and evaluating these decisions on our own, and 3) really good execution on the finished product that demonstrated a deep commitment to quality and aesthetics. Things that didn’t look right were redone without us having to ask. They were upfront, transparent and fair on price and timelines. Would absolutely recommend.

Gallery has been our go-to general contractor in NYC for years now. Got referred by some friends who had had a great experience working with Gallery and then we used Gallery to gut renovate our loft in Tribeca. They redid our ceilings, floors, bedrooms, and built an entirely new and beautiful modern kitchen for us in the heart of a pre-war co-op loft warehouse. They have subsequently returned to knock out additional work and have always been a pleasure to deal with. Great service, excellent workmanship and highly attentive to detail. Cannot recommend highly enough.

We used Gallery KBNY to renovate our kitchen and other rooms. Avi Zikry's design was amazing. Thanks to his vision, we were able to better use our space and make it more attractive and more functional. That was one year ago, and we are very happy with the results.

If you are looking to renovate, Gallery is TERRIFIC. Our pre-war, estate-sale purchase needed A LOT of work. Avi from Gallery was fantastic in every way, including: (1) providing a practical budget (what we could/should keep/restore vs. gut), (2) laying out options (we considered at least five vastly different kitchen layouts), (3) sticking to budget, (4) finding creative solutions to every problem (wet over dry, bath conversions to showers), (5) working closely with my building staff and even impressing them! (building has very high expectations and standards). Avi and his team get it done, take pride in their work and are honest and professional. Avi is an unusually special resource and person. He continued to work on our project until it was done right and we were happy. (Now that our project is complete, there are still decisions I waver on and I believe he will help me with those if I choose to pursue them, even after his team is gone). I am convinced that he can accomplish almost anything (he is one of the most creative thinkers around); if he can't, I would challenge you to find another who can. Full disclosure: I did have to retain my own designer to complete my "A" team.

We worked with the team at Gallery to do a full gut renovation on our apartment in the upper east side. We found the team to be thorough, diligent, communicative and very helpful through the entire process. From initial design renderings to finish selection to construction and final touch ups, we found the team to be easy to communicate with, helpful with suggestions, responsive to any issues or concerns and thoughtful with suggestions to improve our home. We love the way our home turned out and thank Gallery for a great job.

I started this journey with 1 1970s bathroom that needed renovated and dreams of adding a second bathroom and a kitchen that did utilize all the space. I went through the process of interviewing companies that have a team of people who do design, architect, construction, and permitting. The first 2 companies gave me a quote of only "labor". That absolutely wasn't helpful because I wanted to know how much the entire project would cost. I just needed to wrap my head around the cost of renovating a bathroom, adding a bathroom, moving the laundry room, renovating the kitchen, making my office a proper office but also needing a bed for guests and then on top of all of that, making the closets that I had, useful. When I told Avi this, he told me a rough estimate. It was so REFRESHING to have an idea of what my dream would cost. It was honest and he was creative in solving my bathroom addition and the office/guest bedroom dilemma. His solution - add the bathroom, move the laundry room and create a Murphy bed/desk area that also included a closet. It's perfect and beautiful. So that was Avi, my first encounter with GKB. Then I met Kate. The super hero behind the project. She managed everything. She helped me with colors and faucets and cabinets and all the tiny decisions that come with designing new things. She also worked with the construction crews and plumbers and electricians. She scheduled everything, chased them if they didn't show up on time, gave them very clear instruction to make sure everything was completed to perfection. She hustled and worked extremely hard. Every email was responded to timely and very thoroughly. I met a lot of the people during this process and every, single person that I encountered with GKB was kind, respectful, ready to help out with anything. I absolutely made the right decision in hiring GKB. My project stayed on budget (except when I wanted more), my project stayed on time (minus one tiny shipping delay on cabinets), and my project turned out to be more beautiful than I could have ever imagined. My kitchen is stunning. My office is stunning. My bathrooms are perfect. The laundry room is functional. And every closet utilizes the space in the most efficient way. One last thing about GKB - they have an app. And EVERYTHING is on the app. You will know EXACTLY what you're paying for, you will see pictures of progress, you will sign off on every tiny detail and it is all aggregated on one platform. You don't need to gather receipts and check emails...it's all in the app and it's a game changer. This is my 4th renovation project and GKB is by far the best firm I have ever used. I'm so thankful that I found them! You will be too!

From the very beginning, it was so easy to work with this company. The apartment needed a gut renovation after a devastating fire. GK&B provided wonderful design ideas, were extremely patient with our abundance of questions and occasional change of plans, and were very professional in dealing with the building's (a co-op) high threshold requirements and demands. Hands down I would recommend them (and already have) to others seeking to do an apartment renovation in NYC. I will be using their services again for my next apartment renovation when that time comes.

Renovating in a co-op building in the midst of COVID was a long and painful experience. But I can’t imagine anyone better to have guided us through it than the team at Gallery. We endured a three-month NYC construction shutdown, a difficult co-op board that imposed unreasonable restrictions, and two different leaks in our apartment during the renovation work (all against the backdrop of three young kids who weren't allowed in their school buildings). But Gallery navigated all of these obstacles like true pros, ensuring that there were no major delays to our project and that the leak damage was quickly repaired, even when it was not their fault. The quality of Gallery's work is top-notch and accurately represented in the photo gallery you can find online. Peter and Diana provided helpful design input along the way, and Diana made sure we ended up with not only a beautiful kitchen but also a functional one. Her commitment to perfection, along with our foreman, was truly impressive. Gallery's commitment to staying within budget is also unparalleled. Their estimate was higher than others we had received, but they were the only ones who had spent multiple hours on the phone truly trying to understand what we wanted. There were very few budget surprises along the way once we digested the initial number. I did decide I wanted nicer vanities in the bathrooms than what they had budgeted for (which I believe would have been from the same company that made our kitchen cabinets) so that was one big add-on. And the electrical panel in our 1960s building needed to be replaced, which seems common in old buildings and perhaps could have been predicted. We initially chose Gallery because of the one-stop shopping aspect, in that their services included an architect and design input, in addition to the usual construction work and materials. They have a huge staff and many people to consult if an unusual question or issue arises. We were not disappointed, as our relationship with the team, starting and finishing with owner and sales lead Alex, ended up lasting more than two years. Part of this was before we even closed on the apartment and were living abroad, and the rest was largely due to COVID and some final touchups that were not urgent after we moved in. In any case, we felt lucky to have Gallery on our side through all of this, and we would use the company again.

Gallery is absolutely top notch. Came in on time and on budget, and our kitchen could not look better. Avi was thoughtful in planning and design, and offered great advice. His team was uniformly excellent and all aspects of our experience with them were 100% positive.
