Terrible experience. We hired Gary to run a full home remodel. He increased the scope of the project without approval and pulled workers offsite when we questioned the strange invoices. He then threatened to abandon the project if we did not pay for the additional work. The items that we did actually hire him for are left unfinished with very poor quality months after the work was scheduled for completion. I would strongly avoid getting involved with this company.

Gary and the whole team at Brightworks are everything you want in a general contractor: true craftsman, obsessed with detail, organized and efficient, and very mindful of your timeline and budget. Brightworks did an extensive remodel of my kitchen. I was delighted with the outcome and the project came in exactly on time and on budget. Every single person who worked on my project was friendly, tidy, and conscientious. I had previously had a really terrible experience with another general contractor and Brightworks was a breath of fresh air. They made living and working at home through a major kitchen remodel bearable. They contained the dust and even tidied up the tools at the end of each day. The professionalism, quality of work, and communication was unparalleled. I recommend them to everyone I know. You will not find a better contractor in the greater Seattle area. They are top-notch!

We have worked with many different contractors over the years and BrightWork is the best. From the realistic preliminary estimate to a more refined estimate, the numbers were accurate and even came down a bit. The job was on time. We are very demanding customers in terms of quality and detail and Gary and team handled me with both patience and professionalism. What I really appreciated, and show Gary's true integrity and character is that when one of his crew made a mistake, he made it right and covered the cost. In selecting BrightWork Builders, I interviewed many other contractors and went through their estimation process (some of them the top end contractors/build firms in the city), and I found them to lack transparency and directness compared to BrightWork. I rarely give such endorsements, but BB deserves it.

BWB is first-rate. They are skilled, professional contractors. We are very, very happy with our remodel -- still almost 10 years later. If you want a no-nonsense, get-the-job-done contractor, hire BWB.

Brightworks performed wonderfully on 3 high-end, custom spec homes for me. With Gary on admin and malcolm in the field all aspects of the project were covered. Their pricing is slightly above the median but their work was well above the norm. Their scheduling was a little bit off with most phases of the work taking longer than estimated. But their crew has an incredible work ethic. They care about how things are put together and how they function. If they perform as they did for me you'll be happy.
