Hinson + Dagg Architects, LLC

I recently had the privilege of working with these architects in the construction of a new home. Their ability to communicate, along with their appreciation for precision, knowledge of the construction process, and ability to work within the client's budget make them an architectural firm of choice which I highly recommend.

Hinson -Dagg has developed and refined a very good process for understanding a client’s lifestyle and resulting project objectives, and then creating a vision for aligning space with function while working very collaboratively with the client in developing the vision and bringing it to fruition. That is exactly the experience we had with David Hinson of Hinson-Dagg. David spent an amazing amount of time with us just learning and capturing the plans we had for our house and expansion project. He discovered we spent a good bit of our entertainment time in the kitchen as well as outdoors. As result, he formed a concept that allowed for a gourmet kitchen expansion as well as developing a unique approach to providing for significant indoor/outdoor space. Working with David was a pleasure—he is extremely engaged, much focused and was committed to providing a design that aligned with our vision—some of which, we originally had not thought about. In that respect, David worked closely to develop the features that we wanted from the new space and aligned a plan that matched those objectives. He is very creative, innovative and flexible as practicality sometimes took precedence over aspects of the original design. David was very clear on costs, alternatives and worked to keep the project within scope and on time. He has my unqualified recommendation for an architect that believes in environmental sustainability, social responsibility, quality materials and the art of the space---

These architects were exceptional, from design of our "green" home to its completion. They spent time with us discussing not only our aesthetics, but our living habits, so we could envision how we would really use our interior spaces. Their vision went beyond the house itself, to how the home fit into the landscape, taking into consideration how and where the sunlight and shade would fall, according to the seasons. We could not have been happier with the result.

I hired Hinson and Dagg after meeting with them at my house site and discussing my vision and budget. They understood what I was trying to accomplish and were willing to work within my budget. I was very impressed with the time they spent siting the home location. They wanted to ensure that the home was positioned to take full advantage of the forest views all year long. They were fully aware of all the local contractors, and helped me to select a builder that has turned out to be a true delight to work with as he considers this home his home and it shows in the quality of his work. During the construction process, they kept me completely up to speed on the budget and what key decisions were coming up. I do not live local to my new home or Hinson and Dagg, so it wasn't easy making sure that there were no surprises. Building your dream home can be a stressful experience, even though there is great reward at the end, but I can honestly say that I have enjoyed every moment of my home building experience and I owe that all to Hinson and Dagg.

Originally, our home was designed by this firm 15 years ago; working with David Hinson was a professional and educational experience. However, we have also utilized their interior design services in ensuing years, and we have had a positive experience every time.
