Hood General Contracting

We used Hood General Contracting to install a EV charging port, which involved significant electrical and construction work. Greg and Bryan worked together smoothly as a team, the project moved along on time and at budget. I am very impressed and I would not hesitate to use Hood General Contracting again.

Greg did an amazing job turning an outdated condo into a home that I love living in. Greg's work was outstanding. He's knowledgeable, competent, capable and skilled. He arrived on time, did what he said he would do and did it well, and was always honest and fair. He knows a number of people in the trades and businesses (flooring, painting, stone, appliances, etc.) that were all very easy to work with, charged a fair price and did an excellent job.

Gregg Hood is one of the most professional contractors we have had in our home. He is very professional and is easy to work with. Gregg will also follow up on any questions or concerns that I have about the work being done. His work is is 5 stars.

Under budget Excellent subcontractors Quality of workmanship was great Design was well executed Went above and beyond Protection to minimize dirt and debris in areas not affected by construction

Greg Hood of Hood General Contracting has my very highest recommendation. Greg took on a deck rebuild project and I was impressed from the first interaction as he listened to my ideas and concerns for a redesign. Trust was established as Greg listened carefully to what I said and asked questions that inspired a plan that exceeded my initial hopes. Greg measured, arranged for quality materials, worked hard AND met the deadline for making the area safe (and beautiful) before a family gathering. Greg will also excel in property management, as demonstrated when he made a special trip to fix an electrical issue, post a power outage, to ensure my home was safe and comfortable. Tending to good communication throughout the project, Greg made sure that I was well informed and understood the project. The clean-up was thorough, and I am very pleased with the final project. I will seek Hood General Contracting if I add onto the house. Greg’s knowledge, skills, and work standards result in a great outcome with this experienced, service-oriented contractor.

Greg did an amazing job when he built out a walk-in closet for us at our new house. (For starters, I need to make a plug for his wife, Christina Hood for being an incredible real estate agent and connecting us with Greg). Greg was incredibly comprehensive when we walked the space, discussed options, and developed a plan. We ended up pushing into another bedroom to build a walk-in closet for our primary bedroom and could not be happier. Greg made recommendations for things that we had never considered when it came to lighting, trim, and usability of space (thank you so much). He did so much more than just build us a coset, I felt like we received a whole home consultation and provided another layer of confidence with our new home purchase. We will absolutely be calling Greg for any and all future home updates and remodels.

Greg took on a difficult job at my mom and sister's house: Design & build a massive new rosebush trellis to replace old trellis, without harming the huge roof-high climbing rosebushes. This was required to protect them while the house (but not the rosebushes) was tented and fumigated for termites. Greg carefully explained what was needed. He sketched a great design for the awkwardly-shaped space, which we enthusiastically approved. Everything was built to last a very long time. Workmanship was first-class in every respect. Greg had excellent folks helping him too. When done, left the site squeaky-clean. We'd hire him again in an instant.

Greg built us an awesome pergola over our garage door. The workmanship is excellent. He made it exactly as we asked - substantial looking. Unfortunately we requested a change towards the end of the project and he was understanding and did a great job of the revision we asked for. He was pleasant to have around. He cleaned up really well at the end of each day. I can't say enough good things about his business sense as well as his construction ability. He kept in touch with us regularly about any delays and his schedule. We're super happy with the result.

As a developer of homes, condos and an award winning hotel for more than 30 years I have worked with many contractors and subs. Contractor Greg Hood has the important qualities of integrity and honesty; a service attitude and skill. No job is too big or too small. His secret sauce is his ability to find the solution when others can't; solving problems and being cost effective. He is a pleasure to be around, just ask our hotel staff.

We hired Hood General Contracting to replace all 31 worn out single-pane windows in our ~100 year old house. Greg was awesome. His patience walking us through the challenges and options of replacing windows, his project management (including permits), his attention to detail and project execution on schedule (adjusted for the COVID shutdown ...). Greg and his crew were always pleasant to have in and around the house, were very tidy, and 'adopted' our dog. At the start of the project we knew that there were some issue with wear and pest around the old windows and framing, and more issues came up once work was underway. Greg was great explaining the details of the work, and explained our options to resolve the issues in the most cost effective way. We found Greg reliable, trustworthy and fair, and look forward to engage him again for our next project.

Greg and Bryan did a great job of installing my EV charger! I had a specific requirements - location, connections inside the garage, charger outside and some adjustments to make it compatible with my set up in garage. Greg understood the requirement, had all the materials organized and worked with Bryan to install it an efficient manner. Three things I like about the job he did: 1) Understood and met my requirements 2) Cost and time effectiveness - found the most efficient way to save both 3) Number (1) and (2) were done with no compromise on quality of work Getting a quote, scheduling appointment and final billing was all streamlined by email. In addition, he is a wealth of knowledge and got useful tips for my future projects. Will be happy to recommend him any project!

My wife and I were first-time home buyers and Greg was truly a lifesaver. He helped with a lot of great advice and also helped us navigate the complexities of working with PG&E when we needed some electrical work done. I would highly recommend him for any project you have. He definitely knows his stuff. Thanks Greg!
