I had just about given up on finding a landscape company that could add the finishing touch to my new construction house: creating a garden that made my house a home. After searching for a year, I almost settled for having plants plunked down mindlessly, with little attention to the placement, size, or health of the plant. And it seemed that landscape lighting was going to make my yard look like another runway for the airport, based on what I saw driving around north Mt Pleasant. And then an interior designer suggested I call Linda. Linda Greenberg is a master of design, creating special spaces on my bowling alley shaped lot (that ends in the plough mud of the Wando River). She carved out butterfly gardens, paths to secret spaces, focal points that move the eye across the yard, screens that protect my (and my neighbors') privacy, and a gentle introduction to the river. Equally important, she is a knowledgeable horticulturalist, familiar with plants that thrive in sun or shade and withstand the hungry deer. Best of all, she is supported by a talented and artistic team! Brickwork, stonework, irrigation, subtle garden lighting, and of course planting -- her team can do it all. And they come back regularly to make sure my garden feels loved, with fertilization, irrigation, and protection from disease and pests all on the To Do list. You will be delighted with Linda's work, whether you are starting from scratch with a bare construction site, refreshing an existing garden, or simply adding sparkle to an entry, courtyard, or secret garden.

In July I had two 100 foot tall Water Oaks taken down from my small garden. In one afternoon the garden went from shady sylvan glen to a sunny unremarkable plot. The tree roots had jacked up concrete and a brick retaining wall. The brick walks, heaved up by the roots, were unsafe to walk on. Enter Linda Greenberg and her crew of highly talented landscape workers. Linda worked within my budget; utilized established azaleas and camellias; added trees back in; and rebuilt the retaining wall and walks while repurposing existing brick and flagstone. She made creative suggestions and in a week’s time created a charming courtyard garden. I could not be happier with the results.

There is so much we can write about Linda Greenberg Landscape & Design. In a nutshell, Linda is an incredible Landscape Architect. Creative, knowledgeable, idea driven, energetic, and honest. Linda’s vision was instrumental in creating a comprehensive design for our newly built home. Before the footings were ever placed, Linda met with us on our property many times. With a raw space and our site plans she designed the perfect landscape and hardscape for a small space, making our beautiful Garden warm and inviting. Linda listens. We were moving from a home where we had a big garden of our own but were ready to enjoy a smaller space with less upkeep. We also had pieces we wanted to bring that were sentimental to us…an iron Arbor, gate, large pedestal planter, and others that Linda incorporated. A beautiful space was created with special pieces from our old home into a fresh and fabulous landscape. Important to note is that Linda was there and accommodating through ups and downs, and delays of our build. Linda helped our vision for an entire yard transformation, from curb to our wooded back lot line. We used Linda and her team to redo a 25 year old backyard that had changed a lot due to tree loss and winter kill damage. We wanted a fresh take without completely gutting the good aspects (pergola, patio and brick walkways, fireplace and fountain, as well as boxwood hedge, a japonica camellia, fig tree and some other plants we wanted to keep.) Linda was sensitive to our concerns while nudging us toward a plan that would provide more privacy and structure to the greenery. As a recent transplant to Charleston, I was fortunate enough to be introduced to Linda and her wonderful team. We recently moved into a new construction home in Mt Pleasant, SC. Our builder only provided a small amount of plants and trees so we hired Linda Greenberg to create a beautiful low country garden in our front and backyards that would offer us privacy and something pretty to look at during each season. Since we do not live in the house full time Linda was agreeable to meeting with us virtually and walked the property with us on FaceTime so that we could explain what we wanted and help her to understand what we were looking to accomplish. She provided us many virtual meetings over the course of over a month to help us feel connected and a part of the large scale landscape project. We relied on Linda to be the eyes on all of the work that was being done and she was committed to assuring us that the work was being completed in a timely matter. Linda was open to our feedback and welcomed our ideas as she created a comprehensive design that included 2 brick lined bluestone patios, stone pathways, a water feature, a jasmine wall and a variety of low country plants and trees that will offer us color during each season and the privacy we were looking for. I consulted Linda on the design and layout of my garden and toured a number of her completed gardens and yards. She has a wonderful eye with strength in detail and balance. Kudos to Linda Greenberg for a most amazing garden transformation at our home in historic Charleston, SC! Our historic single house has a small front garden as a walled back garden that was once beautiful, but has since become overgrown and unhealthy. Linda blended our vision with her ideas and knowledge and we could not be more happy with the results! We now have a fresh new and spacious space to enjoy for years to come. Linda is very “hands on” and very easy to communicate with; even though we had some delays due to weather and tree deliveries, the end result is amazing. I had the wonderful opportunity to work with Linda on a temporary installation for a wedding in Charleston, SC. She brought in fully mature Italian Cypress tree, English boxwoods, hydrangea, and flats of annuals to create a Tuscan Garden feel in the middle of downtown Charleston. The end result was beautiful! Linda is incredibly high energy and enthusiastic about her work, and the only reason for the 4 stars instead of 5, is due to some last minute changes to the proposed planters that was not communicated to the client. This was Linda's firs wedding design and I ma absolutely sure it will not be her last. I look forward to working with Linda again on future projects.

I found Linda on Houzz about a year ago and just really loved her style & the look of the completed projects in her portfolio. I had been wanting to revamp the front semicircle area of my home for quite some time----I had used a Landscape Architect several years earlier, but that front circle just never felt right to me. It had a very stiff feel and the scale was all wrong. I contacted Linda and she returned my call promptly. We met and I loved all of her ideas....I truly felt like she "got me" and that our styles were simpatico. She came up with some great ideas for the front area & I would have liked to use her to do the entire front yard but the price was way over my budget. I did retain her to clean up & redesign the front circle and either side of the front facade. The total budget was just under $20K. Her crew removed some overgrown tall plants against the house and installed smaller, more appropriate plantings that will grow nicely. Also a few strategically placed trees and shrubs to add dimension. The coup de grace was a beautiful yet understated 2 tiered fountain in the half circle surrounded by flowers & rosemary, and balanced by two topiaries and some gorgeous lambs ear (which I had previously but never grew well) and boxwoods. It's a very beautiful design and I am thrilled with how lush it looks now. It is truly transformative! We did get off to a rocky start on the project. Her crew came and cleared out the old plants and prepped the soil for the new ones. Afterwards, I left town for a week, and when I returned, the project with fountain was complete. Unfortunately, the plants around the base were pretty thin & not nearly the quantity that we had agreed upon. The fountain did not work bc as an electrician was needed to come out and run the wiring for it. Linda did come out personally and make it right (her crew had done the installation; she was not present), and she also oversaw the electrician taking care of the wiring. Once it was up and running, we could see that the fountain was unbalanced as water was only running on one side. She ensured that the fountain company returned to level it. Finally, she sent out her sprinkler system person to ensure my system worked; he actually checked my entire yard, which was above and beyond my expectation. I did later learn that the tubing running to some of the new plants had been cut by shovels during installation, and so, I did have to replace and re-run it around the new plants. Update April 2021: About 6 months after completion, I noticed the $900/each topiaries were dying. Couldn't understand bc I was watering frequently during the hot summer months. Turned out that the drip lines had no "drip", just solid tubing. My landscape guy dug up everything & found several plants were stressed for the same reason. Since then, I have also had to hire pros to balance the fountain bc it was placed directly onto my soil instead of onto a foundation of rocks/sand.

My gardening experience with Linda Greenberg has been stellar. She now has completed 2 jobs for me, my home and a vacation spot. She is truly a gem to work with, I've told several of my buddies that you will always remember the day you meet Linda. Her experience is amazing the way she knows each and every plant or flower and how much shade, water etc. Her suggestions are key, tell her what you like and let her flow. You will not be disappointed, I assure you.

I cannot recommend Linda Greenberg highly enough! My husband and I had let our large yard fall victim to benign neglect over the years as we are not living there but for a few months a year. While the bones of the landscape were good, the yard had become overgrown, and the plants had not been properly fertilized and trimmed. With the prospect of having our son's wedding at the house, I called Linda upon the recommendation of a friend. Over the course of five months, she and her terrific crew worked nothing short of a major miracle. After agreeing on a plan that she designed, her team spent untold hours just cleaning out enormous amounts of ivy and weeds before beginning to plant anew. She was meticulous about bringing our major plantings back to life and replaced the ones that had passed their prime. Additionally, she planted exquisitely beautiful containers and is now helping us to change them out with seasonally appropriate flowers. Linda is a delight to work with, has more energy than anyone I know and truly loves what she does. We look forward to working with her in the months and years ahead.

Linda was given specifications of what I wanted in my garden which she acknowledged and assured me would be the end product. There is a meaningful shortfall of performance and results. Fifteen knock-out roses were planted in my garden even though I previously told her that I hated that plant. She did not follow specific instructions and ignored my preferences. I was promised a "Wow Factor" and "a Complete Garden" for my investment, but received neither or even close. There is much left to be done and my garden reflects this. I also received a citation from the neighborhood ARB for her violation of leaving full plastic bags in the front yard. When I tried to work things out, she refused to communicate in any manner. Instead, she kept the full amount paid even though the project was not completed and the small amount of work that was finished was short of agreed upon expectations.

Linda is such an amazing garden designer who works diligently to get exactly the right look my clients want to achieve. Wow!! Our experience in working with Linda Greenberg could not have been better. We were to the stage with our courtyard that everything was either looking very tired or beginning to die! Linda came for a consultation and almost immediately had a vision for a beautiful English garden. We absolutely love the final product and look forward to many happy hours there with friends and family. Linda and her crew worked tirelessly. I left a message on Linda's website and she took the time to call me while on vacation! We set a meeting date and after talking with me and my daughter for a few minutes, she visualized and sketched out exactly what my extremely overgrown, fenced in courtyard needed. We now have a beautiful blue stone flagstone patio, flowering perennials, tea olive trees and mondo grass. Also, after the expert grooming the existing trees do not look like the same trees! Linda and her team worked diligently for four days and now I love to look out there and, more important, be out there!

Our small backyard had long suffered from neglect until Linda came and completed a major renovation. She removed the cement spa (which wasn't usable), covered the space with flagstone, and planted several trees for beauty and privacy. Our goal was to create a "green and white" garden, which she accomplished by using a variety of plants, come of which I hadn't heard of. It's lovely. We are hosting a wedding reception in October and the garden will be as pretty as the bride!

Once again this year, Linda did a transformation of the garden for our Charleston Symphony Orchestra League Designer Showhouse. The January snow and severe weather had left many dead and brown plantings in the front, side and back yards of our Showhouse. Linda and her team came in and replaced the worst of the dead growth, and dramatically trimmed and cleaned up the rest. She then brought in a beautiful variety of mature plants that gave both the garden and the house new life. Linda is great to work with and I would recommend her without reservation.

My wife found Linda on Houzz and set up an appointment to walk our property. We recently bought a new home in Springfield and the contractor landscape was cheap and ugly. Linda spent over an hour discussing ideas and getting a feel type yard we were looking for. I enjoy gardening and definitely have my own ideas, but Linda was great in designing a plan that incorporated her's and my ideas. This will be a multi-phase effort. Phase 1 is complete and looks beautiful. I had a stone wall along my back property line recently completed and Linda design is perfect. Linda just completed the first phase of our backyard garden, designed to complement our pool and outdoor living area. After meeting with several landscapers, I had become incredibly frustrated with the lack of creativity and ideas from people that are supposed to do this professionally. Everyone I met with sent me similar "cookie cutter" proposals, and clearly failed to listen to anything I asked for. I am by no means a creative type or a person with gardening knowledge, and really needed someone to listen to my vision around color and texture, and have an open dialogue regarding the design in order to create a beautiful space that was also functional. I am so happy I contacted Linda Greenberg to help landscape around a new pool we had installed last year. She listened to my husband and my wishes and executed a beautiful garden within our budget. If it were possible to give 10 stars out of 5, we would. Linda is what we would term a turnkey Gardner. Our home was built in 1999 and when we bought it two years ago, had the same contractor grade, overgrown landscaping that was originally installed. Through a referral by Archadeck who was installing a new patio and fireplace, we learned about Linda's amazing work. Linda promptly stopped by our home after a phone call and spent an hour with us learning about how we live to glean an understanding of how to expand our living space from inside the home to outside. She returned less than a week later with a fully developed plan for our entire home. We live in a neighborhood that has a strict HOA, which requires a 3D version of any plans, that Linda produced without delay or concern. She also attended the HOA meeting on our behalf to insure that the design was approved (which wasn't as easy as just checking a box...she had to sell the HOA on a few ideas that we not standard for our neighborhood). Soon after, Linda went to work and within two days transformed old landscaping into a beautiful garden that is literally the talk of our neighborhood (which was not at all our intent...we simply wanted a nice outdoor living space). Just yesterday, my daughter was selling girl scout cookies and a neighbor 4 streets away said, 'aren't you the family that lives on the corner of James Jack Lane?' When we said, 'yes,' she raved for 5 minutes about how much she loved our garden and what a transformation it had been. We couldn't be more pleased with the results, which Linda continues to support and manage! Thank you Linda!!!!!!!!

I have an acre lot with over 30 rose bushes where Linda brought them "back to life" after I neglected them. She designed and planted numerous hollies and evergreen trees several years ago and they are healthy and lavish. She did a spring project where she planted over 12 flats of various flowers which were hardy, colorful, and lasted though the fall. The Knock Out bushes planted have grown to over 8 feet tall and offer an array of color for 3 seasons. I receive numerous compliments on the work her company did. She also does an awesome job when trimming and sprucing up is needed. She uses quality plants and fertilizers which sets her apart from other landscapers. I feel she has an eye for color and variety. I am very happy with her design, plant selection, attention to detail, and enthusiasm she offers. My property value has increased as a result of her work. Highly recommend!

While our courtyard garden was pretty well-designed, planted and mature, my husband and I were feeling that it was time to revisit some of our decisions and maybe consider a fresh approach. Linda Greenberg was one of three designers/landscapers we interviewed, but I felt instantly that she had the right aesthetic and realized that she knew her plants! (My family is in the soil and ground cover business up North...so I know just enough about gardening and design to be a pain to someone who doesn't know what they are doing!) We discussed what it would take to create a classic, healthy, well-designed courtyard garden. Linda looked at the existing garden, architectural elements, asked about how we live and use the space. She looked at the health of our plants as well as what was appropriate for the scale and layout of the space. As we talked, she sketched out a preliminary plan that included what plants should stay and what needed to go. I mentioned that my husband wanted a water feature, some sort of appropriate fountain. Within a week, she came back to us with an estimate that included removing six large, crowded pines (big task), preparing the soil, moving several plants temporarily and the new shrubs and plants. She had several suggestions for fountains, pots for the porch, troughs (instead of square pots for outside the gate) and added a large rustic mirror (very cool) for one outside wall to the mix. She went to work in October and completed the job in a week. A thick hedge of camellias hugs the inside walls, boxwoods rim the patio, a beautiful plum tree hangs near the fountain. She re-purposed several of our hydrangeas, a Japanese maple, cherry tree and a magnolia. We love it! The clean lines and beautiful plants just make the entire space feel much fresher and modern. We always puttered out there ourselves and had a landscaper come in for the bigger, seasonal tasks, but we decided to hire Linda to maintain the garden on a monthly basis. We really wanted to see how it would look if it she properly fertilized, pruned and looked after it. This is proving to be a brilliant decision. I have never seen anyone mix six different fertilizers by hand and tend to each plant with such attention. Our first spring is coming and she's looking for the bedding plants now. We expect it will be our best garden ever! We are extremely pleased and highly recommend her service.
