We purchased a 70”s Arizona Ranch. I love the sprawl of the Ranch style home and wanted to keep the integrity of the “old lady”. I wanted an architect who could appreciate a mid-century modern design, slump block, low ceilings etc. I interviewed seven, I was confused because it was their vision they were strutting while my vision was totally overlooked. Hearing stucco was a no go! I wanted to enhance the original beauty. Then I interviewed Susan. When she spoke to me it was as if she was reading my mind. We spoke about things that were important like enhancing the view while enhancing the timeless design. I had never hired an architect, so going through the interview process left me with more questions, I found Susan the most organized of the ones I’d interviewed. She laid out the process in her contract. It was professional, informative, detailed and actually worked accordingly - no surprises. Susan was flexible - there were many decisions - she took the difficulty out of the process. Susan was mindful of my wishes/budget and was gifted in her creative solutions. I always worried about the “HGTV surprises”, but Susan assured me that is why I hired her. Sure enough, everything went as planned. Communication is a key attribute for an architect - Susan was so good at not only listening but also being my advocate in the construction phase. She brought to the process a warm, friendly and kind manner and yet if I wanted to go in a direction that was iffy she would correct my course. Susan brings to the table natural gifts and talents in her designs. I wanted our house to be multifunctional; accommodate 100 for parties and be comfy for two, bring outdoors indoors, a home office environment and a cozy place to relax and enjoy life. Susan had the ability to create that spacial reality for us. When we relax we are cozy and without effort expand to enjoy large parties. We open to the outdoors and experience the rain without getting wet - it’s more than I could have imagined. Before the transformation when we would be in our pool we’d look back at the house and want to turn away to take in the boulders on the opposite view. Now we look back at our house and see an equally breathtaking few! She took the “old lady” out of the house and transformed it into a classic timeless beauty. Susan listened to my dreams and made them a reality. We’ve dubbed the house, “A bit of heaven”.

Susan definitely deserves the Houzz service award. I saw her Houzz posts and thought her designs were beautiful. Reached out to her to ask for a favor advising on an installation "catastrophe" we ran into that seemed to line up with one of her designs. She responded same day with great advice on how to address the issue. Nothing in it for her. I'm SO impressed!

We contracted Susan Link in 2013 to design and oversee the construction of our custom home in Scottsdale, Arizona. Her responsibilities include information gathering, design, HOA design review, cost review, construction documents and administration, and permitting. The hose is currently under construction and is scheduled for completion in early 2015. Susan is a very competent professional and easy to work with. The combination of her technical expertise and creative capability puts her in a class above other professionals in her field. She is knowledgeable and resourceful, both in her field and allied industries, which saves time and expedites the project. Susan is a good listener, patient, and works effectively with the general contractor, the design team, and the HOA architectural review committee. Thus far, the project is on time and on budget. We hired Susan Link, of Link Architecture, to completely remodel (rebuild!) our home in Arizona. It was a great experience. The process was completely collaborative with us providing what our specific and general goals were, and Susan making them a reality. Her attention to detail is what has made the house special. Susan also provided the landscaping design which included redesigning the pool. It couldn't have turned out better.

Susan is a star. I say that about her both professionally and personally, and have worked with her on projects over the past 8 years. She has been named a 'Young Gun' by Phoenix Home and Garden magazine, has been published in various publications and is a talented architect and artist (her renderings are truly amazing). Her heart is in her work, expertly 'building' and planning the overall concept alongside the minute details that enable it to be implemented successfully. She is a collaborative team player and is always open to fresh ideas from homeowners, contractors, and designers. Her heart is also in her family and this is a positive complement to her career. I respect Susan for all of her accomplishments and her solid skills.

Susan helped us with a back yard remodel. She proposed a very innovative and creative solution for our large back yard, and we have been absolutely delighted with her work. Our yard was featured in Phoenix Home and Garden magazine! Susan's professionalism is second to none; she stayed involved in our project from start to finish, and made sure that our relationships with contractors and subcontractors were going well. We valued the regular contact we had with Susan all along the way. We are looking forward to working with Susan when we tackle our interior remodel!

Susan Link of Link Architecture is an excellent choice for anyone looking for a professional, client-oriented architect. I have worked with her on two projects, one was a remodel of my home and the other was the creation of a visitor center for a public garden. Her design process is very organized and complete. She will outline the steps of the process and tell you what to expect at each level. Most importantly, she listens to what you want and improves upon it. She does not try to impose a "style" on you. She is both creative and detail oriented (a rare combination.) She thinks about how a space will work in real life, i.e. she thinks about things like electrical plugs and lighting, as well has how a space looks. She is always pleasant and easy to work with.
