Lydia is the ultimate professional. She is very creative and listens to your thoughts and collaborates with you to bring the project to life. She is very responsive and dependable. I gave her five stars because she deserves every one of them. I would highly recommend her and I would use her talents again in the future.

Lydia Lyons helped us in our redecoration project during the pandemic last year. We shared with her our ideas for a new family room, office and new guest bedroom. We didn’t know where to start or how do think about doing this virtually, but Lydia did and we were able to works with her every step of the way. She helped us consider every aspect to make the rooms elegant, functional and absolutely perfect from the wall paint, furniture, lighting, rugs, wall art and accessories. . She has a beautiful sense of style and we couldn’t be happier with the results. We are in the process of redecorating our master bedroom and Lydia is helping us with this project. She is so responsive to our requests and an absolute pro, she worked within our budget and is simply a joy to work with!

Working with Lydia was a great collaborative partnership. She helped me design 2 bathrooms and a kitchen. The place is small and had many limitations - she took all that into account. She has relationships with many suppliers. The project was relatively smooth and really satisfied with the space. She took a pre-fab cookie cutter loft into a something that is stylish and functional!

My wife and I have worked with Lydia for almost two years on a major rebuild of our residence and we could not be happier with the outcome and our experience working with her. She spent time listening to us and asking questions and showing us options and we quickly came up with a style direction and vision, As the project progressed, she guided and helped us create beuaitful rooms with awesome selections in plumbing, lighting, tile, granite, floorings, cabinets, appliances, our wine celler, exterior design elements, and color and paint on both inside and outside of the house, and probably a few areas I missed. Lydia often met us at showrooms and vendors to help us make selections. She would always have suggestions and we were impressed at her ability to find things that we liked. A few times she would suggest something new that we had not seen and we would continue to look, only to end up liking what she had suggested more than anything else. We quickly learned to look forward and trust her suggestions-- again, I would say that this is one of the best experiences you could want working with a good designer. I would be remiss not to mention Lydia's amazing sense of color, space and style. She is blessed with a talent to be able to put together combinations of materials and colors to create beautiful spaces and looks. In addition to all of this, Lydia is an overall great person to work with. She is pleasant, has a great sense of humor, is reliable, and has respect for our sense of style and our budgets. I had a wonderful experience working with Lydia and Celia designing a new guest house, which included selecting all the materials, working with the contractor, and creating a floor plan. They also helped me tremendously in selecting furnishings for other rooms in my house, and were always respectful of budget and my specific needs, ie children who aren't so kind to furniture, rugs, etc! I would happily work with them again when I have another project.

THEE BEST! Lydia Lyons and her team are not just designers but complete project managers. I could not have finished (and loved) my project without her/them. She will keep you and your entire team organized. She has endless patience and persists until you are ecstatic about your selections. She has exquisite taste, but can be as budget conscious as you need. She helped with flow/design of architectural elements, tiles, floors, paints, furniture/window treatment selections, etc. which made me feel like it was truly my custom home. We searched for someone to guide us in the remodeling of our first home. After reading multiple reviews and calling a few designers, we decided to work with Lydia. The photos she posts were a great way to get a sense of her style and she was very easy to work with. Not only did she make the designs for the interior remodel, she also recommended some contractors for the project. During the construction phase, she helped project manage to ensure tasks were accomplished. We're incredibly happy with her designs, ability to be straightforward with her professional opinion, insight into where to purchase materials, and recommendations. She was good at providing us a few options and letting us choose the final product. It was great for us first timers to work with a seasoned professional to guide us through the entire process. The end result is better than what we imagined and it was all thanks to Lydia!

Lydia has done a fabulous job for us, finding hard to get items and working efficiently. She also understands her clients tastes and needs so doesn't waste time looking at items that won't be a fit.

In this hot SF Bay Area market, there are way too many fly by night operators praying on first time re modelers and new home constructions. Lydia Lyons is probably the hardest working, least assuming, most creative, and equally practical designer I've ever worked with. What sets her apart is her customer focus. She makes sure that there are no loose ends. We set out to build a home in December 2014 and were given 12 recommendations. Lydia's confidence and lack of arrogance won us over as she not only had a great sense of style, she also knew the sub contractors and suppliers who could get the job done. While the house won't be done until August 2016, I can easily recommend her and more than happily take a referral. She's truly one of the best and her growing team reflects that level of quality with her new addition Celia.

Lydia was an outstanding professional to work with! She really cared about our project and gave her all to it. We were building a new home from scratch and had no idea the amount of help we would end up needing. She has a fantastic eye for design and is just a really fun person to work with. She gets a sense of what YOU like/want and what your style is, and then makes it look as best as it can possibly look. She doesn't push her style on you. Our only regret with regard to Lydia is not hiring her earlier on in our project! You want to be able to enjoy the time spent with your designer, and you certainly do with Lydia!! She is awesome.

I didn’t think Lydia could top the other projects she has completed at my house - but she did! The remodel of my master suite - bedroom, bathroom, and closet- is amazing. It is absolutely beautiful and exactly the peaceful sanctuary I hoped for. Most importantly, it is unique. As always, Lydia designed a space that I never could have conceived of on my own. Mixing tiles, patterns, textures, and colors that I wouldn’t ever imagine putting together. Given all of the projects I have done with Lydia I trusted all of her choices and just went with it and am so glad I did. I love the result and it is not cookie cutter or boring. I had the great pleasure of working with Lydia for the first time, recently. She's not only professional, but extremely talented. She has quite the eye for design, and I would highly recommend her.

We bought a house in Willow Glen in 2011 and Lydia helped me immensely with the interior design. She made recommendations for the placement of our existing furniture and rugs as well as recommending new pieces, their sourcing, and their placement. I was especially pleased with her ideas for lighting, something I was having a difficult time envisioning. She chose a beautiful chandelier for the entry that was very reasonably priced, but makes a real statement at our entrance. Along with that, she chose very attractive sconces, kitchen pendants, and additional canned lights in the living room to brighten it up. She suggested cherry hardwood flooring on the first and second floors and retaining the existing carpeting on the third. The interior wall colors that she picked out are perfect and flow beautifully from room to room. She recommended built-in cabinetry and window seats in several rooms and I was very, very pleased with the finished result. Another one of her strengths is choosing the right fabric for cushions and upholstered pieces. She has a great eye for color and pattern. Throughout the project she was very attentive to staying within budget and hiring top quality people to complete the work. I loved working with Lydia and couldn't be happier with the finished product. I highly recommend her.

We are working with Lydia Lyons Designs on a project in Los Altos Hills. Lydia is a team player. Lydia keeps all parties informed of her process on a weekly basis. Lydia has encouraged and maintained a collaborative environment durning the construction and interior design process. Lydia was phenomenal! Last minute, we needed a designer to help us with the final leg of our kitchen/family/sunroom remodel project. Not only was she assessable and accommodating, but she quickly understood the elements where we needed help, came up with practical solutions and was able to direct us on how best to finish each element. For example, we were struggling with our final wall color. No joke, we made 3 separate visits to the paint store and each time we came home with between 10-14 different color choices to place on our walls. Each time, the colors in the stores looked much better than when we ultimately applied them to the walls at home. This process maybe ate up a total of 18 hours of time between time at the paint store selecting color swatches to sample and then ultimately applying them and then painstakingly deciding why they didn't work. No joke, Lydia came in, listened as we explained the dilemma, picked up the color wheel and within 15 minutes picked the ultimate color which we now have on our walls. And EVERYONE, who visits our home comments on how well the color compliments our kitchen! She made easy work of deciding cabinet pulls/knobs, lighting fixtures, window trim, and furniture placement. It was a joy to work with her and put us immediately at ease at how painless the process was with her. We would come back for her level of expertise with any future projects! Bravo Lydia!

I hired Lydia to do a make over of my house. The work included new hardwood flooring throughout the house, crown and base molding, paint and the selection of furniture, art, area rugs and accents. We had an initial meeting and went over what I was looking to change, my thoughts and style preferences, and what I was hoping to spend. I was also hoping to re-use a good portion of my furniture where it fit into the remodel to help keep costs under control. When we had our second meeting she came back well prepared with various flooring samples, paint colors and her style ideas. The selections and ideas fit well with what I had told her but she also added a few of her own things that I hadn't thought of which I think helped pull the final product together. Lydia was well organized, always on time for meetings, proactive working with hired help - all in all very professional. Lydia also had recommendations for companies to do the flooring, crown molding, and painting which I ended up using. Their quotes were very competitive and in each case I found them to be professional and easy to work with. In this business can be hard to find and worth a lot to me. Overall I highly recommend - you won't be disappointed!

It was great working with Lydia. We completed our residential remodel in December 2011. Lydia really helped us make great design choices and decisions and we love the outcome. My project was a renovation of a 30 year old coastal living home. I wanted to bring it as up to date and make it the most energy efficient home financially possible. My goal is to sell this home in a timely manner too. Knowing this renovation was a big number, I investigated a lot. Interviewed a lot. It got down to two designers. Then, I went with the one, who I thought brought two things to the table. Textures. An incredible knowledge of textures, how the light is going to make them look at different times of the day,in every room. Pizazz - mixing and matching those textures to bring out the theme of this home, in style, increase it's functionality, and keep what I thought was the original architects vision. That was Lydia. Lydia was very patient, worked her pallet into my thought process and I love the result. Conversely, (and only knock) You have to be a little patient with her, as she is busy, commuted from San Jose to Santa Cruz, and the schedule changed a little often. This was more than off set by connections, if you need someone, and the materials and products she exposes you to. I would say a 9.8 out of 10. My renovation was a little over a half a big one, so major. If you are contemplating or feel such madness coming on, make sure you get Lydia on your interview list for designers. You will be glad you read this and glad you did. Check out this house before it sells to see what I mean.

I have worked with Lydia twice. She worked on a high end home a few years ago and more recently on a smaller home as I went through a divorce. The first home was a traditional home with classic furniture and very high end finishes, plus a largish budget.. The current project is targeted to being a comfortable modern/contemporary home (with a more modest budget) and like the first project with Lydia, it is turning out wonderful. Lydia is great with color selection and finishes. She helped with furniture, lighting, paint and tile selection as well as high end design concepts. So, I have her working closely with the architect and contractor. She has helped me get value for my money, and the design/elements set the project apart as being unique and welcoming to guests of all ages and outlooks, as well as a wonderful home for me. Lydia's work style is first rate too. She listens well, providing candid, honest feedback and suggestions. She doesn't force ideas on anyone, but will suggest when some things may clash or not work. Lydia is SUCH A JOY to work with. She has great taste but never let's it get in the way of allowing the client's style to shine through on the project.
