About Us

I was raised in Manhattan Beach where I grew up in homes custom built and designed by my parents. Visiting jobsites and marking up blueprints with my contractor father gave me my first taste of the design process. Today, I bring South Bay’s casual sophistication to homes across Southern California. Passionate about textiles and design, my goal is always to elevate the everyday into motivating spaces for my clients. Innovative, fun and inspiring are three of my favorite adjectives when it comes to home design. I work with both homeowners and developers to create personalized homes that are timeless yet current; with thoughtful layers that look and feel as though they’ve been collected over time. Focusing on clients’ culture, tastes and interests as well as the home’s architecture, I translate those influences into highly livable, visually stunning interiors. Kids, pets, sand and swimming pools inspire instead of limit my creative possibilities. I work primarily in the beach cities of Palos Verdes, Rolling Hills, Redondo Beach, Hermosa Beach and Manhattan Beach, and travel for clients as needed. With a new showroom in Rancho Mirage, I'm excited to expand my Firm to the Greater Palm Desert area. As a former luxury design specialist for House Beautiful and Modern Luxury Interiors California magazines, I decided to bring that knowledge and passion to interior design and founded MC Design in 2007. Home is in Lower Lunada Bay in Palos Verdes Estates with my husband and two Chihuahuas. I’m a firm believer in cocktail hour(s) and beautifully organized spaces. Megan is a phenomenal designer! We loved every design touches she had on the house we bought; so much so that we decided to look her up and hired her to put on the finishing touches to the house after we moved in. In my opinion, Megan really nails the “pattern on pattern” look, creating a space that is truly uniquely yours. Her keen design sense is also ahead of the time—you can appreciate her looks on magazines such as AD, Vanity Fair, Instagram, and Houzz. The color scheme, the materials, and the designs that Megan chooses are highly functional and long-lasting. The looks that she pulls together are timeless. I also appreciate that she didn’t overwhelm us with choices. She comes with a strong sense of what your space should look like and provides 2-3 options. As a busy working mom, I loved this approach. We were also lucky in that we moved into a house that she already completed 80% so trusting her to complete the rest was so easy (and FUN!) We highly recommend her. In fact, we will likely tap her for another project soon.

She has an incredible eye for design and seamlessly pulled my rooms together by selecting new lampshades, reupholstering my sofa, and adding beautiful pillows. What impressed me most was her ability to repurpose items I already had, giving them new life and blending them into the updated space. Had an amazing experience with Megan. I needed some help refreshing my home and rearranging my space. She is so talented, artistic, and professional. She helped me see my home in a totally different light!! She helped me add a pop of color , get rid of things I didn’t need, rearranged my kitchen bar area, book shelf, kitchen and living room. She made it look so beautiful. Megan understood exactly what I was trying to accomplish and I now love my home and am excited to have guests over. Everything looks so much warmer and inviting. Our relationship began when our contractor highly recommended her to design our new home. From the very first meeting we instantly liked her (her personality is contagious) and knew we would work well together. Megan’s brilliant vision for our new home far exceeded our expectations! We could not have been more thrilled with her work. Her design is fresh, innovative, playful, thoughtful, cohesive and she brought up ideas that I hadn’t thought of. Her team is professional to a fault, punctual, responsive and quick on their feet. The project consisted of choosing new wall colors and paper, artwork, carpets, fixtures, window treatments, doors, new pieces of furniture in every room, and much much more. Megan demonstrated an impressive level of expertise and professionalism throughout the entire process. In addition, she was FUN (yes, fun!) to work with…that was the cherry on top. We are so happy with the outcome and can’t wait to welcome our friends and family into our beautiful new home.
