Melanie and team helped us with a kitchen renovation. The results are incredible. It's beautiful and incredibly functional. There is a place for everything and cooking in our new kitchen is a joy!

Shortly after purchasing our first home, we hired Melanie to help us redesign the kitchen, bathrooms, and common areas. This proved to be one of our best decisions, as she and her team transformed our space into a stunning and functional home for our growing family. Melanie stood out from our very first meeting. During the initial interview, we expressed our desire for a home that would reflect our personal style and emphasized finding a designer who would be a true partner. We had heard stories of designers imposing their own aesthetic, leaving homeowners feeling disconnected from their spaces. Our experience with Melanie was completely the opposite. Her collaborative approach was exceptional. She listened carefully to our ideas and provided thoughtful guidance on both aesthetic and practical considerations, seamlessly incorporating both into the final design. In addition to her eye for design, Melanie has a talent for sourcing beautiful pieces. Her extensive network of local vendors helped us discover items that consistently exceeded our expectations and avoided the cookie-cutter look of typical furniture websites. She also has a particular gift for creating spaces that are both beautiful and practical for family life. She even thought of details we hadn't considered – like incorporating a small shoe cubby into the kitchen nook to manage dirty shoes from the backyard, a feature that's proven invaluable with kids. We also had the pleasure of working with Valerie, whose attention to detail and organizational skills were impressive. Her meticulous coordination kept the renovation running smoothly and on schedule – a feat that any homeowner who has undergone a renovation knows is no small accomplishment. The entire experience was really wonderful. We found ourselves looking forward to our design meetings and genuinely enjoyed the entire renovation. Our home now perfectly reflects our family's style and needs, and we couldn't be happier with the result. This is a long overdue review for our wonderful designer Melanie. If you read nothing else, just know that she is extremely talented, has excellent taste and style, is organized, and is easy to work with. We started working with Melanie in late 2018 and completed our remodel in the summer of 2019. Even now, as we make additional purchases, Melanie is always available to consult us. We hired Melanie to design the interior of our home, source furnishings, and provide general design ideas on the exterior. She handled selection of flooring, cabinets, plumbing fixtures, light fixtures, mirrors, door and bath hardware, paint color, window treatments, pavers, furniture, planter pots, and more. She was very spot on with our style as well - we provided inspiration images and gave her some ideas of what we wanted, and she filled in the gaps. Our running joke was that she would provide a couple options for something, we would hesitate and do our own research, and then eventually we would come back to what she suggested. She was always right! She has impeccable taste and knows what is on trend but can also pair that with classic elegance that will stand the test of time. And she is practical too, like picking non slip tile for our kids bathroom, selecting stain resistant couch fabric, or suggesting that we enlarge our mudroom (and decrease the size of the adjacent bathroom) since the mudroom would have a lot of activity. Melanie is also very organized and created a digital binder for us, with inspiration images, elevations, selections, and finish schedules. This helped us remember everything we worked on, and also served as a deliverable for our contractor to make purchases and complete the work. And she keeps to her schedule. She was probably the only person/contractor we worked with that delivered when they said they would. We still look at our home and are in total awe of what she helped us accomplish. We wanted a magazine worthy home that was comfortable, classic, and kid friendly, and she exceeded all our expectations. She gave us the forever home we always wanted! We cannot thank Melanie enough for helping us create a beautiful home.

Melanie is everything you want in a designer: stylish, confident, capable and caring. I’ve known her as a colleague for a number of years and can very highly recommend her for both residential and commercial projects. She brings a wealth of experience (including a Master’s degree in Interior Architecture) to each project and I’ve seen her firsthand work tirelessly to ensure every detail is just so. She goes above and beyond to ensure her clients receive top service. I would happily refer her to friends and family.

Melanie is so wonderful. We were introduced after my husband and I purchased our first home and were looking for some help furnishing it. We have so enjoyed working with her. She is a great listener and really internalized our style while she was sourcing and designing. One of the things I most appreciate about Melanie is her ability to drive great design without compromising functionality and usability. If you’re wondering if you should work with Melanie for your interior design needs, let me help you make the decision a lot easier. In short, she’s amazing to work with, experienced at what she does, and will absolutely blow your expectations out of the water. No question. My wife and I bought a remodeled home in SF last year, which we wanted to have furnished before moving in. We had tight budget constraints, no solid concept of our style preferences, and a lot of other things going on at the time. Through it all, Melanie was always great about setting our expectations early and often (regarding cost, timing, services offered, etc), and understanding when things came up that may have caused us to get back to her later than expected. Her process is refined but flexible, and structured in a way that allows for minimal input from us, but yields a wow-factor that we rediscover every time she presents her concepts (which are our favorite sessions). Through all of your interactions with her—even if she doesn’t seem like it—she will take note of every nuance in your habits and preferences, and always keep them in mind as she plans out the design for your space. It’s kind of incredible how she seemingly thinks of everything when it comes to all of the aspects of designing a room: the flow of the space, furniture & sizing, color palettes, materials, intended use of the space, lighting, privacy, energy, vertical space, artwork, and she even takes her own measurements! She is worth every penny she charges (and some), and we are as happy to open our wallets to her as we are every time we step into our home. Everything she sourced for us is absolutely beautiful and it all came together better than we could have ever hoped for. Last but not least, we are very proud of our home and we LOVE seeing people’s reactions when they see it for the first time! We are grateful to have found her, and once the weather improves, we’d like to have her design our backyard as well!

I've had Melanie design my last apartment and my new condo. She has incredible taste, is very professional, and had a ton of ideas to work through some of my complicated requirements. She expertly used a number of my old pieces and found way creative ways to work around some very tricky San Francisco apartment issues. I would highly recommend her to anyone!
