We were familiar with Case Design, but hit the jackpot when assigned to the crew of Mary Englert as our Project Developer, along with Chris King, Designer, and Stefan Eising, Project Manager, assisted by their skilled, hardworking, and personable craftsmen. They made the huge renovation project of our 33-year-old kitchen, laundry, and powder rooms, with additional updates to our living room, foyer, and second floor bathrooms, feel low-stress and exciting. Mary and her team transformed our vision into reality with creativity, expert attention to detail, and a stunning cohesive final design! The remodel was completed ahead of the projected timeline and exceeded our original concept to include the creation of a mudroom space tailor made for our lifestyle. Communication was outstanding, keeping us informed at every step, and always responsive to assist with design selections and questions that arose from start to finish. We would absolutely recommend Mary/Case to anyone looking for superior design services, and will happily use her/them for future home projects!

Mary was a joy to work with. She was always organized, well informed, a great troubleshooter, and very creative. Case was not the cheapest alternative, nor the most expensive, but their process was extremely organized and very meticulous. The end product was beyond expectation and a showstopper. We are thrilled with Mary and Case and would do it all over again.

Case has a fantastic reputation all thanks to designers like Mary Englert. Mary’s super power is her ability to listen and interpret a vision, which is extremely helpful for clients who might be overwhelmed (or are not even sure what they really like or what is actually functional). Mary is talented, capable and instantly trustworthy. Mary keeps a keen eye on costs and modifications, and never lets the clients run down a path that will lead to disappointment. Specifically, the time Mary took with us at the very beginning of our project created a foundation that made the outcome (approx 12 months later) an absolute masterpiece….beyond our expectations when it all came together. Case is lucky to have Mary and you would be, too, if you had the chance to work with her and the team she has assembled…yes, super heroes, indeed.

She was also generous with her time and contacts in helping us with paint selection and other design counsel above and beyond her scope. She's responsive, engaged and solutions focused. We finished a renovation of the entire first floor of our home and highly recommend Mary Englert and Case Design. Mary was the perfect fit for the total redesign and reconstruction of our condo's small kitchen and entryway. She had great ideas and was a careful listener, always open to our suggestions. I was a bit nervous going into the project, never having done something so extensive, but Mary's warm, down-to-earth manner put me so at ease that after our introductory meeting I didn't feel the need to look further. She was available whenever we needed her, intent on seeing that any questions that arose during construction were satisfactorily resolved. I would definitely work with Mary again, and recommend her wholeheartedly.

When I decided to work with Case Design/Remodeling, I was expecting quality service and design. What I could not have predicted was how much fun I had working with Mary Englert and Melissa Cooley, the team assigned to work with me. Mary and Melissa listened carefully to what I wanted, and surprised and delighted me with their designs. They challenged me to move a bit out of my comfort zone. At first I resisted and they patiently worked with me to explore many design options. We had fun field trips to tile stores and many meetings at their offices in Bethesda. My final decision was pretty much one of their first designs! I felt comfortable making my own suggestions and I enjoyed hearing their considered reactions. (Some of my ideas made it into the final product!) Mary and Melissa were a delight to work with, and I was sorry to see the project come to an end, but I have been enjoying the results for a little more than two years. Everyone from Case was professional. The project moved along exactly as Mary had mapped it out for me before work began. I could not have been more pleased.

My wife and I worked with Mary and her team from Case Design on a pretty big bathroom remodel. We live in a coop that was built in 1966, an era where the words "spacious" and "bathroom" did not go together. The doorway was two feet wide, the vanity was practically on top of the toilet and the 50 year old tub made the room look even smaller. We wanted to design for our future here. Mary and her team drew up three options for us (like Sears' old Good, Better, Best - dating myself, I know). We went with the Better option, which widened the doorway to three feet, replaced the tub with a walk-in shower and borrowed some room in our bedroom to make the bathroom more spacious. At every step of the design and remodel process, Mary was there to answer questions and present solutions. Everyone from Case were so professional, patient and wonderful to work with. The finished product is amazing! I highly recommend Mary and Case Design for your next reno, whatever it might be.

I can't say enough about how wonderful it was to work with Mary. From the day she walked into my home, I knew we were going to get along great! She has a very calm and kind demeanor. As we discussed what I wanted, I could tell that she was a good listener and really cared about giving me the kitchen design of my dreams, and that's exactly what she did! I also appreciate that she gave me suggestions and guidance on what would work well and would not work well in my space. At the same time, she created smart solutions that I never thought could work, while giving me many of the extras that I wanted, like a cabinet with a pull out shelf for my mixer and a home for my cookbooks. During the project she stopped in during every phase of the renovation to see how things were progressing and to make sure our design concept was staying on track. She even made my family masks to wear in the house during the pandemic, that's how much she cares about her clients. It was a pleasure to work with Mary and get to know her. Thank you for creating a cohesive, beautiful and functional kitchen for my family to enjoy.

This was my first home improvement project for a 53 year old house and the guidance, help, and hands on activity that Mary, Neil, and Jose and all the support staff at CASE provided made the experience a pleasure! Keep in mind that this project was done during the height of the CV19 Pandemic in Maryland. Mary had great design ideas and the CASE showroom in Bethesda was very useful. The products for tile, counter top, vanity, fixtures were all very nicely displayed and great to be hands on. Neil made sure the work was prompt and well done and made special efforts to stop by and check in on progress many times. Prep work including dust walls, carpet and floor covering was excellent. Jose was the main craftsman and did an excellent job truly a skilled craftsman! CASE has a good reputation and many neighbors said "Aren't they expensive?" Yes, you pay a bit of a premium but you get top line work with top shelf products fitting your vision.

We'd give Mary 100 stars if we could! After a calamity befell our already failing 25-year old kitchen the night before a major holiday meal, I called Case the next business day. For context, we are semi-retired seniors who love to cook, often entertaining family and friends across generations. Completely re-doing our kitchen was a way to extend our own hospitality capabilities while dealing with necessary repairs. I'd been a corporate design project manager for decades, and knew this renovation did not present an ideal situation: almost 400sf of windowless kitchen, constrained by immovable walls and a relatively modest budget. Although I had a vision, I'd lost touch with building codes and permits, and there was a pesky corner I was unable to resolve so outside help was a must; we'd admired how Case worked on a neighbor's home some years prior and when they assigned Mary to us, I knew we'd hit pay dirt. At our first meeting, I gave her my own freehand plans and elevations along with certain finishes I'd already selected, and she didn't flinch. We quickly came to experience Mary's deep knowledge base and experience, seemingly effortless ability to problem solve, and meticulous organization. No upselling, no fantastical schemes, rather the most effective collaborator. Her unflappable good nature made her a joy to work with at every stage. I especially enjoyed watching her dynamic with her Case design colleague, Melissa Cooley, and with their team of carpenters: when a project team shows the same respect for each other and their work as they do for their clients, the project always benefits. Mary is truly gifted in fostering that. Full disclosure: this was the first time I ever awarded a contract without competitive bidding, reflecting the level of confidence, competence and honesty Mary presented from the outset. Not a single regret! She's the consummate professional. Fast forward to no cost overruns, completion significantly ahead of schedule, and only positive feelings about every interaction-- we're loving our new space with its striking style, dramatically enhanced functionality and space flow.
