Pauline was referred by a friend of mine to work on my own home. Thru the entire project, Pauline helped us modify architectural plan, (floor plan/light fixture lay out), designed and selected kitchen/bathroom (tiles, vanities), selected paint color/molding etc. She made us plan/think ahead so that we avoided change orders in construction phase. Pauline has great taste, and her design is well balance of functionality, practicality, appearance and cost effective . She is always well prepared for each meeting and often made the decision making easy for us by clearly stating pros/cons for different design plans. Pauline is easy to work with. She accommodated our schedule, we had a lot of late evening online meetings after our baby went to sleep. Pauline had drawing for every wall of each bathroom, with specific instruction on even where to start the first tile. The drawing also have specific instruction on the height/location for each floating vanity and light fixtures. All the detailed/clear design made it easy for contractor to follow. Highly recommended.

Our friend introduced us to Pauline after we worked with another designer with an unpleasant experience. Her guidance and the wonderful outcome to our house has proven that we made the right decision to work with Pauline. She took the time to educate us about the design principles, budget track and trace, material management and timing, and potential pitfalls to avoid. She did a lot more than simply design, Pauline held our hands and walked us through the entire preparation process before the contractor started his work, including finding the right vendors and materials. Throughout this remodeling process, we have encountered many unexpected and unpleasant experiences, but none were because of Pauline. In fact, Pauline was always there to guide us, to answer our questions, or to help us to resolve the issues that came up. We found her to be very thoughtful, resourceful, courteous, straightforward, transparent, and professional; we only wish we had used her as our designer from the very beginning and would recommend her wholeheartedly.

Working with Pauline was one of the best decisions that we made. She helped design and pick materials for our bathrooms and kitchen including placement, trims for our rooms, interior and exterior colors, lighting fixtures, kitchen and niche tiles, outdoor stone veneer, porch tiles and pavers, and furniture. Pauline follows a holistic philosophy - individual elements of the design must come together to create a flow that starts from the house exterior and continues to the interior. Bathrooms were meticulously designed from floor/wall tile patterns, to metal strip style, to mosaic selections. Pauline drew up diagrams for each bathroom and pasted them in the bathrooms so that the contractors knew what to do. She followed the same philosophy with outdoor pavers and tile selections ensuring we got exterior colors that really went well with each other and also with interior colors. Pauline has a good eye for different design styles (e.g., contemporary vs traditional vs transitional) and understands color combinations very well. She would have us look at the same colors in different lighting - e.g., morning versus afternoon versus evening light. At the same time Pauline is flexible and listens to her customer’s requirements. She was also mindful of costs and adjusts her working strategy to minimize cost if needed. It was an absolute pleasure working with Pauline. She is well organized and genuinely interested in the best outcome as if she were designing her own home.

I've worked with Pauline on two separate projects in the past five years – each with incredible results. The first was a Tuscany style development project that was later sold at a price that was the highest per square foot in the neighborhood in large part due to the 'wow factor' of Pauline’s designs. The second project is the beautiful transitional style home I currently live in.
