Valet Custom Cabinets & Closets
Professional Organizers in San Francisco
Average rating: 5 out of 5 starsApril 2, 2012
As a Home Entertainment Designer who has collaborated with Valet Custom for 5+ years. I have only the highest recommendation. The process, the quality of the work, and the support for my clients has been excellent. I have included a photo from a custom TV lift on which we partnered. It had to reveal the tapestry when not in use. They executed flawlessly. James Stout, Chief Concealment Officer, The Integrated Lifestyle.

Karen is very talented. She is an excellent listener and truly understands our clients needs. She is patient, thorough and has a knack for streamlining systems. She makes the organization process fun! We have referred many of our clients to Karen and they have been thrilled with the end result. I can't say enough good things about Karen. I have also used her for my own home - closets and garage and there is nothing better than feeling like everything has it's place.

Maribel and her team were so efficient and formal. I was a little embarrassed to show her our pantry and closets as they were a nightmare! But she was so understanding and accommodating to what we wanted and literally changed our lives for the better! If you are looking for a well experienced professional that is creative, personable, and honest, look no further!

Tara was a cheerful and effective organizer. She helped me plan my move, organize my possessions for the move, and most importantly, dispose of stuff I no longer need. Amazing how much junk one can accumulate! - She helped me purge a lot of that!

It's not just her immediate laser-like ability to suss out the problems you didn't realize you had. It's not her briskly cheerful efficiency at pinpointing what needs to and can be done within the agreed-upon timeframe. It's not even the abundant good humor and refreshing practicality she brings into your messy, messy life. And the belly-laughs along the way. It's the lasting results: Shira doesn't just reorganize your space --- she gives you a new perspective on the arrangement of your daily life. Years later now, I remember the time she held three separate can-openers up and with a mischievous twinkle said, "Pick one!" Ah. Of course I don't need three, just the best one. And she made it feel like an in-joke, not like a shameful oversight. We tore through my wardrobe and eliminated items I didn't think I could have parted with but felt unburdened by after their dismissal under her counsel. She stacked things. She separated items. She categorized in ways I hadn't thought of. And I learned. I won't pretend that my home is now Shira-worth several years later, but many drawers remain uncluttered, which if you know me is pretty impressive, and my understanding of how to accomplish some of her miraculous effects remains. Hm. Time for another appointment.

In order to get the most out of your living space, you need to be able to see the forest for the trees. ShipShape is expert at cutting through the clutter: creating systems for storing all the flotsam and jetsam one can't seem to live without, finding a home for the necessary detritus of modern life, and helping to purge the non-essentials that seem to proliferate all on their own (in an environmentally acceptable way). They are great for one-time projects as well as ongoing maintenance, because—if you're like our family—the road to hell is paved with good intentions.
450 Architects, Inc.
Professional Organizers in San Francisco
Average rating: 5 out of 5 starsFebruary 9, 2015
We hired 450 Architects for an extensive renovation and addition, and have been thrilled with every aspect of working with them. David has designed an outstanding home for us that embodies what we wanted and how we live. Furthermore, every time we have a new idea for something we could do in our home, from holding a workshop or offering a space for a new venture, to hosting a children's playgroup, we find that the space can accommodate these new ideas seamlessly and beautifully. We are also very happy and excited about the relationship of our new house to the outside yard space and the city. 450 also has extensive experience with green building practices, and has done LEED certified projects for schools and other buildings. They are helping us design a Passive House certified home with high levels of insulation and a heat recovery ventilation system to ensure fresh clean air while conserving energy, as well as meeting several other goals such as Net Zero energy consumption. They have also supported us in investigating technologies such as composting toilets for our home, and specifying a greywater system for irrigation. Finally, 450 has worked with our structural engineers to specify additional measures that add only a small premium to construction cost but strengthen the home considerably to reduce possible earthquake damage. Overall, our experience is that 450 is willing to push the envelope of building design and construction, and they are fearless in exploring new technologies. Most importantly, they are wonderful, warm, and highly professional people to work with.

I hired Lucy last year after I found out that I was pregnant. Doing an extreme clean out/organization session had been on my list of things to do for a few years...and I knew that it wasn't going to happen any time soon on my own. I soon hired Lucy and I was so glad I did! Lucy was very methodical of how/where we should start. She was very honest and pushed me to really think about what I was keeping and why. We would separate everything into three items (1) garbage (2) goodwill (3) consignment. At one point there were 25 bags in my garage to bring to good will! Lucy and I would work together on weeknights in three hour sessions. She was always very prompt and was willing to stay longer if we were in the middle of making some good progress. My husband and I ended up buying a house soon after Lucy and I had made our way through organizing my home, and I always talk about how much I likely saved in moving costs since I had got rid of so much stuff in my organizing process! Lucy was also great in suggesting great ways to store/organize items. Once we were all moved into our new home, Lucy came over to help me organize our kitchen and a couple of areas in our house. I rave all the time about how great working with Lucy was and how it made me feel so much better about my move, and my home now!
