It’s hard to know where to start when reviewing Ron Lester and Georgia Contractor Group. From the very first conversation to the final walk through, Ron, Kal and the entire GCG crew were the absolute best I’ve ever worked with. My husband and I lived in our 42-year-old East Cobb home 12 years before deciding to rip the band-aid off and finally complete a full renovation of the home. We renovated the basement after finding mold shortly after moving in, and roughly 4-5 years ago we updated the office, primary bedroom, bath and closet as well as our son’s bedroom and bathroom. Other than that, the rest of the home pretty much remained in original condition with some moderate painting and small updates done by the prior homeowners. We needed new floors throughout, a new kitchen, new stairs, 1.5 baths, fresh paint, new lighting throughout and a new outdoor living space to finally make our home a dream home. After our family experienced a traumatic experienced a total loss of our house due to a fire they were the perfect duo to help us start the rebuild process. They are an absolute God send. Ron and his GCG just completed 9 month project building our home. He and his group did an amazing job of bringing my wife and I's vision into a reality. After interviewing several builders Ron seemed like the right fit from the first conversation on the phone. His cistomer service and attention to detail are top notch (as well as his patience!). His knowledge and experience in the building industry and materials markets allowed him to navigate a very tough building environment during covid with minimum blips in the process. We started interviewing contractors to build our new home in Jan 2020 and we selected Ron Lester and Georgia Contractor Group for many reasons. His ability to give an estimate based on our floor plan and his transparent pricing. He also understood our need to stay on budget. Even with the unexpected Covid cost increases (not Ron’s fault) we were still able to work within our budget. Ron is extremely responsive and listened to our needs and desires as we built our home. His attention to detail and problem solving was very comforting as we progressed through the process and the weekly meetings were always productive. Our friends warned us that building a home would be a very painful process. We can happily say that the opposite was true while working with Ron, we enjoyed every part of the journey. I actually found Georgia Contractor Group and Ron Lester last year through Houzz. We contacted Ron in February, 2020 about rebuilding our four bedroom ranch house. We had decided that my mother needed to come live with us, but she wanted a separate space in the house with her own bedroom, bathroom, sitting area, and kitchen. We needed a separate apartment within our house to achieve this, so it would be a custom build. Ron met with us and understood what we wanted to do. He had some great ideas and we liked his approach. From the start, we could sense Ron’s level of personal and business integrity. He is completely honest and straightforward. We actually signed the building contract the week that everything shut down from Covid because Ron assured us that things would be fine moving forward. We met for several months and planned the construction. Ron has a great team - the guys have been working with him for years - and they worked on the house almost every day from demolition to completion. Ron was very concerned with keeping us within budget. We decided to make some changes along the way, and Ron was completely upfront about cost. We are very happy with everything we selected. Ron is ethical, hardworking, and very responsive. If you call or text, he responds quickly. He is customer service oriented and his work is of the highest quality. In fact, on the last county inspection, the inspector made a point to tell me that he had done all of our home inspections and did not have a single issue along the way, which is rare when you take the house down to the foundation. He said we had a top quality home and no corners were cut. He said he had a very short list of builders he would recommend, and Ron and GCG was on it. I still can’t believe we built a custom home, but it is gorgeous and exactly what we wanted. Ron made the whole process very pleasant. If you want the best of the best, GCG is the one to choose.

Ron Lester with Georgia Contractor Group was the builder for my new home. I already had a house plan picked out and Ron was able to give me an estimate and a time line for when each phase would be completed. We met every Wednesday of each week to discuss progress and answer and questions that I would have. Ron was always helpful and patient with me whenever I wanted to make changes. I am a widow so I was very thankful to have his guidance throughout the whole process. We stayed on schedule and whenever we were over budget it was because of changes I wanted to make. I come from a family of home builders so I know good work when I see it. I am very happy with my new home and if I had any problems after I moved in, Ron sent his workmen out to fix the issues which were very few. I highly recommend Ron if you are considering building a new home.

Ron was excellent. I have never built a house before and he was very patient. He walked me through all the steps. At the start of the project, I told Ron that budget was most important and he helped keep me on target. Overall, I came in under budget, which is a testament to Ron. He always went the extra mile to make sure he met my needs without exploding the budget. Ron is so honest. I created my own tracking spreadsheet to track costs to keep myself accountable to the budget. But Ron was making sure I was tracking to the budget all along. Ron was so transparent that I never questioned costs. His integrity is top level. Throw in the pandemic of 2020, and Ron did not miss a beat. He alerted me of possible roadblocks, we addressed them and the net result was Ron kept the schedule on track. I am thrilled with my new home. Ron was the perfect partner. His attention to detail was awesome. If I ever build a house again, I want Ron to do it.

I worked with Ron and GCC on a significant full-home, pop-the-top renovation. For a project this size, we decided to interview over 10 builders and chose GCC because A) they treated our relationship as a true partnership B) They were extremely responsive to our requests and C) They were committed to completing our project on-schedule and aggressively mitigating any delays. From the very beginning, Ron worked with us to value-engineer our project and was a true adviser in addition to builder. Based on his experience, he was able to advise us on what features of the home to spend, and what features of the home to save. Ron was extremely responsive, as we spoke almost daily and met at least one-time per week. Lastly, Ron was unrelenting in meeting our rather tight deadline to meet a close date before the birth of our second child. Beautiful, Stunning, Trans formative Our house renovation included the master bath room shower, a completely new sun room and a completely new kitchen. We did take three bids – Georgia Contractor Group (GCG) won hands down really based on viewing their previous work. Mark Fulmer, Founding Partner, GCG was our point of contact through our 41/2 month process. Mark was very easy to work with and always provided excellent feedback as to different options. Indeed, we used the customer cabinet maker he recommended and separately the landscaper he recommended and were extremely pleased with both choices. Mark gave us allowances for products such as tile, kitchen sink, etc. in our contract. This process worked well for us as we were able to choose the look of the shower, sun room and kitchen. Mark has exceptional standards as do all of his master artisans. All who work for Mark are truly master artisans and share his exceptional high standards. Every activity is done 100% right. Our renovation started with demoing the master bath shower and its rebuild from scratch. The masons were professional and did excellent work Mark checked each stage. The result is a beautiful master bathroom. Next the sun room and kitchen were entirely demoed. Mark immediately noted the kitchen had a deep sag on the floor on the wall adjacent to the master bed room. Mark had his crew (Scot, Scot & Roberto) jack the house up 2-4 inches along that load bearing wall and put in four support piers in our crawl space. This was unforeseen and not part of our plan that had a successful conclusion! The sun room was rebuilt – 3 three dump trucks of cement poured, six piers for stability were inserted and framing was accomplished. The crew was very experienced and every step was inspected and approved by Mark. David did the trim and tongue and groove ceilings for the sun room and kitchen – his work is masterful and beautiful. Next, the tile floors, Quartize counter tops and custom cabinets were skillfully installed by experts. Stunning results! Mark's professionalism, flexibility and expertise made for a smooth and successful renovation. Mark has a wonderful housekeeper, Isabel, who regularly cleaned up construction debris. We were very comfortable that our house was always in “good hands” when we were not home. We highly recommend Mark and the Georgia Contractor Group team for a trans formative renovation!

I had the opportunity to work with Ron at Georgia Contractor Group and it was the absolute decision that I could have made. Ron clearly communicates project plans, timelines as well as potential risks. He is extremely knowledgable about home build and renovations and has multiple certifications that require extensive training, testing and experience. He expects nothing but the highest level of attention of detail from his subs and it is definitely noticed in the final product. My renovation was highly complex due to damage from a lightning strike and damage from fire and water. It required working with an uncooperative insurance company and having Ron as my advocate significantly helped in that extended process. I could not be happier with the outcome of the project. Ron and team surpassed my high standards and expectations.

After reading so many great reviews of Georgia Contractor Group, we decided to have them take a look at our job. We met with Mark, who gave us a firm idea of how long our project would take. We looked over the proposals and costs and then met with Mark and Ron (who was out of town when we initially wanted to meet). We tweaked a few things and signed the agreement (I was glad to see it was an AIA format, which is fair to both parties). They then measured and prepared blueprints for the entire house. Our original intent was to redo the kitchen, replace the engineered floor with a hardwood floor, widen doorways and install pocket doors. We ended up adding one fireplace and redoing another, in addition to relocating and widening a stairway. Then we had a screened porch enclosed and made a four season room. Ron also designed and installed a pantry and laundry room in an existing space. Throughout the process, Ron was able to take our concepts to a sketch, and after changes, to the finished product. It looks amazing! Ron worked with us to make our home handicapped accessible without a sterile feeling. He went above and beyond to find what we needed. Ron has an outstanding attention to detail. It is to his credit that everyone who worked on our home treated our home with great care. Suppliers that we met with spontaneously stated that he is very transparent and always works to make his clients happy. Ron is readily accessible by email, text, or cell phone. He sends you a schedule of what will happen on a day-to-day basis during construction. During our first meeting with Ron, he made a statement that told me a lot about his character: “There are a lot of good craftsmen out there. I don’t want someone in your house that I would not want around my wife and kids.” After reviewing his concepts and proposal, that pretty much decided things for me. I would use GCG again; I would not even consider another contractor.

Both commercial architects, we chose to work with Ron Lester and Georgia Contracting Group (GCG) for our home addition and renovations project after initial research and a great first interview with Ron. He clearly knew construction, addressed all the usual concerns about financial transparency and regular communication, and was fun to talk to! Over time we came to see that his team includes equally energetic, honest, and passionate people who have worked with him over the course of many years. Ron worked closely with us to bring our design to reality - and even better than we had expected! Georgia Contractor Group completed a whole house remodel for us. We could not be more pleased. Mark was absolutely fantastic to work with. He stayed on budget and on schedule (excluding weather delays) and was in touch with us throughout the project. Mark has good relationships with his subs and holds them to a high standard. Many builders we interviewed had suggested we flatten our home to start over, in order to get all that we wanted in our renovation. So thankful our neighbor referred us to Georgia Contractor Group, who took a much more reasonable approach. We didn’t even need to hire an architect for our large-scale project, as Ron Lester is truly a one stop shop: designer, architect, builder! He was both competent & professional, so as to hand hold us through every step of the process. Ron spent numerous hours and had the painstakingly patience it took to run multiple designs, before we landed on our final choice. His design expertise, keen eye, and attention to detail were most helpful to a novice customer like us. In addition to his many talents, he was fair and trustworthy in the budgets, finances, and estimates. And, he was most accommodating as he allowed our family, inclusive of our two dogs, to live in our basement through the entire renovation. I chose Ron Lester with Ga Contracting after thoroughly researching and talking to 3 other experienced recommended contractors. I could not have made a better choice. I had many people warn me about how painful it would be to build a custom built home. My experience was not painful in the least and Ron and his team of subs did an outstanding job from start to finish. Ron had to tear down my old lake cottage to start with and abide by very strict regulations regarding cutting down trees and building a new structure. I hired Ron Lester to do a tear down and complete rebuild on a modern farmhouse style house. Ron was always accessible, extremely conscientious, very detailed and creative. Ron and Mark and all the subs they hired were very professional, did quality work and left us feeling like we got our money's worth. After an extensive selection process to completely rebuild our Morningside home, we chose the Georgia Contractor Group and could not be happier with our decision and the final result. Since we had a solid idea of what we wanted we did not engage an architect and used Ron to create the architecture and design. His outstanding architecture skills resulted in a design that met all of our desires, and his vast experience added creative touches and features that we had not even considered. The design process was very interactive and we appreciated so much the ideas that Ron brought to the table. In most instances, due to his impressive portfolio, he was able to show us specific examples of his suggestions that he had built for other clients. Ron used a sophisticated architecture software tool that allowed us to view 3-D color images of the design he was preparing, and that even provided virtual walkthroughs of the house design so we could get a feel for the flow and how it would look. Unlike the other candidates we interviewed, since Ron does the design work himself, no limit was placed on the number of no-cost design updates we could make. No request was off limits, and to our delight everything we wanted was accommodated, even significant design changes we made after construction had begun, such as the enlarging of our kitchen/living/dining area which impacted load bearing walls, and the replacement of a ground floor bedroom with a laundry room, pantry, and office nook. We were very cost-conscious in this build and would have sacrificed changes if too costly, but somehow Ron was able to accommodate our requests with very reasonable costs. We couldn't be more thrilled with our finished product and have received nothing but the highest praise on the job from everyone that has seen it, construction pros included. The construction and finishes are all rock solid, the few minor glitches we found post-completion were immediately handled, and the value we received is extremely satisfying to us. Despite getting everything we wanted, including changes that added cost, we came in under budget. Ron's honesty and integrity are beyond question, and his commitment and focus on an on-time, on-budget job are fierce. Beyond that, Ron is just a really nice guy who is enjoyable to spend time with, and someone who we now consider a friend. Our remodel was almost a complete update to the inside of a house. We expanded and put in a brand new kitchen, put in new beams to strengthen the house structurally (and level the floors), updated 3 bathrooms, put in new electrical wiring, heating, cooling, new floors. Ron and his team did a fabulous job. They were meticulous in their attention to detail, and these details had a huge impact on the final finished project. Ron kept us informed every step of the way, and was patient through all of the layout changes. We would readily work with Ron and his team again.

Georgia Contractor Group performed a complete renovation of our home. Removed walls, reconfigured the space, and built new kitchen and baths. Our project would easily qualify as a very tough project not only in terms of building execution and deadlines, but also because we are picky homeowners. We moved into the house, 6 months after breaking ground. This was possible only because of the experience, the attentiveness, the follow through, and the high engagement that GCG brought to the project. It was a tough project because of the conditions under which the house had to be built (extremely tight erosion tolerances, backing to a creek, location on a main road, etc). When you build a home, decisions are taken and re-taken constantly. There are a lot of opportunities for the relationship with the builder to go awry. We cannot say enough good things about Georgia Contractor Group. We were doing a major renovation on a traditional 70s era house, including a small addition, total kitchen & master bath gut, secondary bathroom updating, exterior work, hardwood floors throughout, etc. All while living off-site with 2 very small children. Mark Fulmer and the Georgia Contractor Group are an excellent contractor who clearly understands the construction concepts of project management, cost control, value engineering and on time/on budget. We had a small exterior area that we wanted to enclose and make a part of our home. To accomplish this Mark and his team had to virtually tear down and rebuild the back end of our home. This included the removal of load bearing walls and replacing them with major structural beams. Mark had to coordinate with other contractors to complete the job and did so with outstanding professionalism, care and efficiency. We plan to utilize Mark's services again on future planned projects for our home.

Mark Fulmer and his team did an outstanding job in completely renovating our townhouse which had massive water damage and basically had to be rebuilt from the studs. Mark is extremely thorough, always returns calls promptly, had a number of great suggestions and ideas and has an obsessive attention to detail. Competent, Professional, Talented Georgia Contractors Group (“GCG”) has done several projects for me. The most significant project involved reworking the underlying structure and waterproofing a third floor terrace over finished space. In addition, they replaced door frames, repaired sheet rock, and repaired hardwood floors damaged by water. Not only did GCG fix the damage, they designed the new terrace in such a way that future problems would be prevented. I worked with both Ron and Mark. Both are very hands on. They have a small direct team which does the planning and most of the carpentry, sheet rock work, and painting. In addition, they were personally on site over 95% of the time. The workmen GCG brought to the site were people they had worked with for many years. GCG has access to many competent tradespeople. The ones they brought to my home included skillful painters, carpenters, electricians, tile craftsmen, a plumber, a metal roof installer, a gutter installer, a professional carpet cleaner, a professional engineer, and an exceptional hardwood floor repair expert. GCG has many professional certifications and can skillfully fix many difficult problems. GCG is familiar with the building codes and with the building permit process. Throughout my renovation, they were on time and fulfilled their commitments. Since part of the interior of my home was exposed to the weather during the process, appropriate steps were taken to prevent any damage. Their workmen were very careful about protecting my floors and furniture. The working area was kept very clean and they spent the last half hour of each day cleaning up. The bid GCG gave me was very detailed and very accurate on some pretty complicated work. Their bid was very fair, and I definitely got my money’s worth. GCG is very easy to work with and they will readily discuss the issues and alternate solutions both before and during the construction. I have a great deal of confidence in them. As other projects arise, I will certainly use them again, and I highly recommend them.

When we contacted Ron Lester of Georgia Contractor Group to build a screen porch and patio, he took our ideas and built a backyard oasis that exceeded our expectations. From the beginning, he was on site every day to oversee the work and to make sure that it was finished on time. The porch blends beautifully with the original house. Bead board ceiling, fine-gauge screening, and two ceiling fans are just a few of the details that Ron suggested and incorporated. And both the porch and patio are built to last! Georgia Contractor Group did a terrific job repairing & refinishing my deck, steps and replacing the concrete pad below the steps. They also replaced broken shutters for me as well as installed a gutter drainage system to redirect runoff water from washing out the edge of my property. Their quality was great!
