At SYH, we believe in the power of good design to change the way you feel and function in your home. Life is too short not to love your home. Our favorite homes have the same qualities as our favorite humans: depth, texture, intrigue, light and lightness, color, whimsy and warmth. With architecture and decorating under the same roof, we specialize in conceptualizing a home’s exterior and interior design and also filling it with things that are useful, beautiful and meaningful. We design custom homes and additions from the ground up, and we also delight in bringing new life to old homes. We curate furniture, art and accessories that are in conversation with the architecture, tell a story and invite you to linger. We guide, organize, communicate and prioritize. We sweat the details and hold all the pieces. As much as our experience and knowledge of design permeates our work, we always create spaces unique to the particular people (and animals) who live in them. Getting to know you–your joys and quirks and backstory–is what enables us to cultivate a home you love. We honor history and acknowledge our responsibility as global citizens by sourcing vintage and repurposing and upcycling when it makes sense, and leaning in to local, artisan and small. An SYH home is personal, functional and timeless, and an SYH-led project is marked by practicality, conscientiousness and levity. SYH serves clients near and far. We have designed homes from coast to coast, though the Midwest is perhaps nearest to our hearts, and definitely nearest to our Bloomington, Indiana, based studio. We have worked on homes in Minnesota, Michigan and Ohio. Whether you are in Indianapolis or Chicago, Michiana, Louisville or Cincinnati; whether your project is your forever home or your second or third vacation home; whether you need architecture or furniture or both: if you are looking for someone to create with you an artful home that tells your personal story, we’ll be a good fit. I’m not really sure how I can truly articulate just how amazing Susan and the entire SYH team truly are, but I will do my best to summarize. First, Susan is unbelievably talented and she is truly made for what she does. I mean I think she might be a magician. Second, Susan and her entire time are all professional. They do not miss deadlines or meetings EVER ! Susan and her team go above and beyond throughout the entire design process. We are talking top shelf customer service. The client deliverables have blown us away EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. I waited TWO years to book Susan because I wanted to study her portfolio and my goodness she is worth the wait. The response time from the entire SYH team is almost immediate, which I never expected because I understand she has lots of clients to serve. Somehow, Susan and her team have made us feel like we are the only client they have. If you are looking for a design/architect team please look no further because Susan is the best in the business. It’s so awesome to have an architect working directly with the interior designer which is what SYH has to offer. The SYH team have made a very daunting gut remodel project plan and simplified our decision points to options. Can you imagine walking into a tile or fixture store with no direction on options that will work well in your space and function for your lifestyle? If you hire this team then you will never have to worry about being overwhelmed during your project because they will take care or every detail. Susan keeps our goals for this project at the center of every decision and this intention has yielded an amazing design plan. She is currently making all of my dreams come true. Highly recommend and we will never use anyone else for our design needs ! Thank you SYH team! We are truly grateful beyond words.

I imagine that Susan and her team put their all into everything they do. I can't imagine a better person to work with when it comes to design; she's basically some kind of Mary Poppins of design, and she has the ability to see through walls... We hired Susan Yeley's team to help us renovate our 100-year-old, craftsman’s style bungalow. We also wanted to add on to the back of the house (where the kitchen is located) to create a deck and mudroom. The addition onto the back would also mean we could create a walk-in closet in our bedroom. We had never hired a contractor before so not only did Susan help us with the design, but also helped us hire a contractor. The entire process was so smooth! And even though we had a good idea of what we wanted, Susan and her team helped us get everything just right and made it even better than we had originally planned. We are so pleased with our kitchen, mudroom and walk-in closet (and pantry!) that I would recommend working with Susan Yeley Interiors for any renovation. Our project came in on budget and on time and I would hire Susan Yeley again for any future renovations.

We are super happy with the fantastic professional consultation with Susan. She answered all my questions and concerns concerning our remodeling project, and had solutions and suggestions that we are putting towards our project. She could not of been more professionaI. She really listened to what my vision was in a very respectful and helpful way. We decided not to hire her as an ongoing consultant during our project as we are on a budget and now have some repair construction issues of unknown cost that we have to address before starting our project. But she was so forthcoming about recommending certain trusted contractors to complete our projects, as well as her design suggestions, that we felt we had a great start. I would highly recommend her to anyone!

Susan helped us design the kitchen remodel of our 1960's home when we moved to Bloomington in 2014. We went into the remodel with some initial ideas. She listened to what we wanted and asked about our sketches. Within several days she came back with some great layout choices that we hadn't considered. Meeting with Susan was a great decision! Susan is professional and approachable. She works quickly, and her dedicated spirit shines through in her work. Her designs were well proportioned making for a kitchen that everyone loves to cook in...or just hang around. She helped us choose various finishings including surfaces, colors, textures. She even found us some cool refurbished furniture options. Susan helped us find the balance we wanted to create a classy, but refreshing kitchen where the whole family loves to be be.

We hired Susan Yeley Interiors to provide designs for my Master Bathroom, Kitchen, Living Room, and Game Room. She worked with us to better understand our likes/dislikes, needs, etc.. She provided multiple designs for each area at different cost levels as well as suggestions for materials that might work best. She helped identify potential contractors as well as suppliers for materials. Susan and all her staff were very professional as they helped us understand all aspects of the design created and the details we needed for moving forward with incorporating the design as we began to renovate and update our home. Her company is very easy to work with and provides high quality designs. They are helpful and informative, and we likely will continue to work with them once we choose which area of the house to start in!
