At Talavera, we believe everyone deserves a home they love. Unless your house was built to your specifications, chances are there’s something that you’d like to change. Whether you want a full remodel, kitchen or bathroom update, or just popcorn ceilings removed, we can help you. We design, build, remodel, make cabinets, millwork and hoe furniture. Talavera is owner operated by Larry Mack. Talavera’s founder grew up in and around the construction business and had a passion at an early age to work with his hands, create, and problem solve. While working in high school at his uncle’s lumber yard, he worked closely with the in-house carpenter and soon after decided he was a natural fit for the trade. Larry started to work for a contractor that came into the lumber yard and continued his education geared toward business management, while continuing to work in the trade and eventually establishing his own business. Larry has been a carpenter specializing in remodel projects of all kinds since 1981. Larry grew up in a suburb of Chicago and relocated with his family in 2003 to the Phoenix area. Larry has established a great team of professionals to help him carry out successful projects, from his in-house crew to the trade partners including subcontractors and suppliers. In early 2014 Talavera was established. After over 30 years of experience working with many talented cabinet shops, it was a natural fit to combine the two businesses and work closer together on related projects. We used talavera for our kitchen last year and brought them back to remodel all our bathrooms this year. As expected the project was finished on time. Larry has amazing follow-up and is 100 percent engaged throughout the process. His team is amazing as well. They do fabulous work. Keep the job site as clean as possible and are respectful and professional.

We had an exceptional experience with Talavera, Larry and his entire crew. He had worked on a friend house and we hired him after seeing the work and his pleased our friends were. Larry has a perfect balance of listening to our wants/needs and offering suggestions to be sure we thought of everything. Everyone on his team was fabulous. I recently had a roof leak and Talavera helped me find a quick response roofer, then prioritized repairing my ceiling dry wall. They have also completed two full home remodels for me in the past. It was clear that every team member was invested in delivering outstanding results, as if the house was their own. Talavera is awesome in many ways. We initially did an outdoor remodel with them and we were so impressed we did a major indoor remodel. Everyone in the crew had the same commitment to quality and doing the right thing. No shortcuts! And they clean up every day. Larry is a great communicator (very rare in this business). We just completed a total remodel of our home with Talavera Custom and couldn't be happier with the results. We initially met with several highly rated contractors for this project but Larry stood out even among this select group with his deep knowledge of construction. We knew we found the right contractor when, during our first meeting, Larry was able to tell us in 5 minutes what it took a structural engineer two visits and opening up walls to figure out. Larry is also a talented designer who understands what his customers are looking for, channels that into a cohesive vision, and then brings it to reality. He went above and beyond helping us pick out every detail of our home from flooring to counter tops to light fixtures and ceiling fans. All of our cabinets were custom made in Larry's shop and are a highlight of any space they are in. The team at Talavera is extremely talented, hardworking, reliable, and staffed with long time employees who are a pleasure to work with. We highly recommend them for any construction or remodeling projects.

This is the second kitchen remodel we have had done by Talavera Custom and could not be happier. We moved from the other home and on our return to Phoenix we contacted Larry to spice up the kitchen in our new home. again we were not disappointed. Larry, Lacho, Manny and the crew at Talavera do outstanding work. Their attention to detail and pure customer service is refreshing in this day and age. Counter tops, island refinishing, and tile work was amazing. I just wish we would have had an area for the type of barn door he did on our last house. WE COULD NOT RECOMMEND THEM MORE!
