In September 2021 he built 2 garden gates for us. I immediately pointed out to Tom that I wasn’t happy with quality of posts. I had split where he’d put hinge. The other was poor quality timber. Said he’d come and check them . He didn’t. In the spring the wood split further so gate shifted and so won’t shut. I’ve been trying since then to get him to fix them. He fails to respond to emails, calls and texts. If I do manage to get him on the phone he says he’ll be there in a few days and then doesn’t turn up!

Be very wary, used this contractor on projects for 2 houses, the second time around he took money for materials that needed to be ordered and a permit. Calls to the town confirmed that the permit was never submitted The contractor has ghosted us, no returns to emails, phone calls, vmails and texts requesting contact. We are out the $1800 and starting over on the project.

Electric Fireplace. We just moved to our newly built house and we wanted to have an Electric Fireplace right away. However, we are bit anxious to what might be the outcome since it's a new house. Everything should go together with the finish of the existing house. We are forever grateful to have found Tom from Building Art. He is very professional, knows the Alberta Code for Electrical Wiring, well verse with home warranty, very keen to details, very neat and clean and most especially very respectful to our new place. I saw him in our doorbell camera (while I was at work) going back and forth as he was doing all the cutting of brick stones outside. So that it will not scratch our floor and not to create noise since my husband is sleeping from Night shift. I did not see any single damage to our property while the work is done. Tom even accommodated our last minute change request. But more than this, we so love the outcome of our fireplace. It is perfectly beautiful. As well, the price is so right and very competitive. I am very much excited to work with him again in the near future for our spice kitchen and basement kitchen. This guy is highly recommended. You will never go wrong with Tom if you want quality and good costumer service.

I have worked with Tom at Building Art for a few projects now. He is my go to contractor for commercial projects. He is professional but fun. Tom and his team have done several projects for me over the last three years. The first involved removing a hot tub and replacing it with a large planter, resurfacing decks (approximately 700 sq. ft.), and building a small (approximately 85 sq. ft.) greenhouse. The second project involved building a pergola (approximately 275 sq. ft.) over one of our decks. Finally, Tom finished the interior of a garden shed and a ramp to my dock. All work was well planned and well executed. It was started and completed on time. All deficiencies (there were very few) were remedied. Tom and his team were a pleasure to work with and I would highly recommend them.

Tom is very good at what he does. Plumbing, carpentry, electrical, painting are all things he has done for me. We have had a number of different projects done by him and all very good. Wonderful hardwood floors, and master bath redo are two great examples of what he has done for us wonderfully.

We've hired this company for a number of renovation projects, including two basement renovations, two fences and a large deck. The most recent was in Nov of 2014, which was a full basement renovation in a rental property we own. As usual, they were professional, completed the project on time, kept the work site clean and were fair and honest in their billings. They provided us with excellent creative ideas and performed their work as craftsmen, rather than just a construction company. We have no hesitation in recommending their services for a variety of projects.
