Start to finish this is a company that lives up to it's name. We have had other companies for other projects so there is a basis of comparison. Very easy to work with and communicate ; they were very helpful in both large and small issues. Honest in their assessments and each set of workers were professional and respectful of the workplace and the homeowners. Would recommend this company to anyone needing someone they can trust to do a remodel project.

Excellent work! This was my second project with Carpentry with Integrity. I highly recommend their expert carpenters and preparation/cleanup worker! They were very accommodating with my schedule and communication was top notch. So happy with my new space!

Mike and his team designed and built a beautiful composite deck for our home. From the design process to picking out materials / colors to the framing and build, Mike's team was great to work with and we are extremely pleased with the results! No construction project is without hiccups, but Mike addressed our concerns timely and to our satisfaction. While the deck pricing may have caused us some initial sticker shock, CWI's workmanship was well worth it! Because "phase one" went so well, we engaged CWI to install new french doors going from our kitchen to the new deck and replace what was a door (to our old wrap-around balcony) with a large window. The doors look, fit and function great, and the window matches well with our other windows on that wall. We know that we will enjoy our new deck for years to come. We also plan to work with CWI for future carpentry projects. Because with home ownership, there's always another project! : ) Before and after pics to be posted at a later date.

We use CWI for a large 1st floor project. We gutted and redid the entire kitchen, moved some walls, and installed new hardwood floor matching the existing floors. The project involved a 3rd party designers for the kitchen that Mike Howell recommended, and lots of trades (plumbing, HVAC, electricians, drywall, flooring, painter, tiler). Mike Howell met several times with us, and his initial proposal for costs turned out to be accurate. We went over, but it was 100% because of our choice to upgrade cabinets during the design phase, and everyone was clear with us what the outcome of our choices would be. His estimates on everything was, on average, accurate (we spent over our allowances on some things, less on others, but the big picture number was correct). Mike was actively engaged in the design phase that went on about 3 months or so, meeting with us and the designer, coming to the house to take measurements and assess the mechanicals. He was a huge help and comfort in this phase, letting us know what would work and how. During construction he was around, assessing and informing the work and answering our questions. Mike Buechner was our project manager. He took a real interest in the job, was always around and was willing to communicate with us pretty much at any time. He di a lot of things that helped us out that probably weren't his job, including moving some furniture. We always felt informed and never felt surprised by anything. All of the CWI employees were on time, polite and did great work. From framing to construction of the cabinetry, we felt they took their time and were careful to get things right the first time. The site was kept as clean as anyone could have managed. The trades CWI chose were likewise great. They showed up when we were told the would, and they did the job professionally and with no problems. Everyone was unfailingly polite and pleasant. Everyone involved in the project answered all of our questions clearly and without hesitation. Mike originally estimated we would be done in 8-10 weeks and we are back in our kitchen in just over 8 weeks. We could not be happier with our results. The whole 1st floor looks fantastic, the kitchen is beyond what we hoped for and we really believe we have added to our quality of life and the value of our home. On budget and on time, no less. It is our intention to do bathrooms in the next three years, and we will certainly use CWI for those projects and whatever else we think of going forward.

Carpentry with Integrity did a great job remodeling our basement from beginning to end. Mike and his team were responsive and professional as well as careful and meticulous, and they addressed any issues that came up with good communication and problem solving. Also, they have a great eye for design and layout as well as expert knowledge in all matters of construction and coordinating subcontractors. Our family continues to enjoy our new basement, and we are glad we found CWI for our basement renovation project.

I will begin with the end in mind. If you value your home, and are considering a Home Renovation project, you owe it to yourself to sit down with Carpentry with Integrity to explore the possibilities for your home. Mike Howell’s team have completed two such projects on our home. The most recent was completed this spring after 15 months of effort, now this may sound like a long process and you’d be right, except for the fact that a Pandemic Supply Chain was less than cooperative! Any project requires the involvement of products from many different brands. With all of the challenges CWI faced, we were never once surprised about a delivery date, nor were we wondering if we would have someone from the team on any given day. The communication was rock solid and if there was bad news, Mike delivered it ASAP and with possible solutions to any challenge faced. I have not once yet mentioned Craftsmanship. Look, there are plenty of good craftsman in the world! What you do not find, are companies that are great at craftsmanship AND project management! Our project began with very modest goals, unfortunately The City of Geneva had other ideas! Setbacks enforced in an ununiformed manner, pages of Arbor Studies / Requirements that created weeks of delays only to find out the city was mistaken, yah we saw it all! During all of this, Mike and his team were always present, flexible and a calming force during a time when manufacturing was a veritable Minefield! What did Carpentry with Integrity complete for us? New front door, Custom Palladium window above the door, replace the balance of windows, Cedar Siding, New roof, complete redesign the outdoor living space on the back of the house including a large screened in porch, additional decking with lighting. All of this work was done by collaborating on what we wanted to accomplish, creating the plan, communicating the plan, and then executing the plan. Did the project take longer than planned? Yes. Did it cost more than we originally planned? Yes. Were there delays? Yes. It was also being done during a Pandemic! Are we satisfied with what we spent vs. what we received? Yes. Would we do it again? Absolutely! Would we choose to work with Carpentry with Integrity again? Yes and twice on Sunday!

My wife and I have worked with Mike Howell and his team of craftsmen for many years now. It started with a complete exterior redesign of our long front porch in Saint Charles, as well as a master bath remodel. He has since done another major master bath renovation in our new Elgin home, as well as a new kitchen island. We have referred Mike's team to a number of our friends - all of whom have utilized their services and were thrilled with the results.

My husband and I worked with CWI to complete our commercial salon renovation and we couldn’t be happier! They were easy and pleasurable to communicate with and met my short deadline of when I needed the project done. They are all amazing, genuine people to work with and their craftsmanship is beautiful! We hired Carpentry with Integrity to replace an old deck off the back of our house. During the design process, Frank came to our house to discuss what we were looking for and to show us example materials. He also laid out the overall costs depending on different material choices, which were consistent with the prices we got from other contractors. Frank offered his candid opinions when we asked, but we never felt like he was trying to pressure us toward any particular product or design choice. It was clear that Carpentry with Integrity genuinely wanted to make something we would enjoy. Once the design was finalized, they got to work removing the old deck and installing the new one. They were very clean and organized during the construction. At one point, as we watched the new deck go up, we decided that we wanted the stairs to be wider. They never hesitated to work with us to make that happen and never once complained about having to redo them. We now have a beautiful deck that we love to use. We highly recommend Carpentry with Integrity.

Needed railings on our front entrance. Frank came over for an estimate and made some suggestions and spent plenty of time with us on our decision. We made our decision and schedule installation. Mike our installer did a great professional job we are really happy with the results would highly recommend CWI.
