Hamish Murray did an incredible job on our two home renovation projects, remodeling an upstairs bathroom (6 years ago), and last year with a larger project, upgrading our kitchen and adding on a new bedroom and bathroom. We know it was a busy time for everyone, with supply chain disruptions and people booked to the max, and their project management kept the project going and on time. They were very professional and were responsive to us. Anytime we had a concern, they worked to alleviate our questions and provide a plan and updated timetable. All of this while still staying close to their original completion date and maintaining a high standard of craftsmanship. As soon as we settled back in after the completion of the project, it felt like the house should have always been this way. We have more than enough space, and everything is so functional - our kitchen is incredible! The kids are loving having their own spaces as well, and we thank you deeply for making this project a reality. We would recommend Hamish Murray and we would use them again in the future for additional work on our house.

Hamish Murray Construction recently completed our remodel project in Nob Hill and the process was seamless from bidding through punch list. They kept the project running on time and on budget. Communication and organization were excellent. The Project Managers were on top of everything including some complex custom millwork and metal work. Our kitchen and bath remodel was beautifully done, every component executed to Hamish Murray’s exacting standard. The entire project was done on schedule in spite of pandemic induced supply problems and illness. The daily communication between Hamish, our architect, the subcontractors and ourselves kept everyone in the loop and resulted in timely decisions. We couldn’t be happier with the experience.

We had an amazing experience with Hamish Murray Construction from start to finish. We closed in a patio space to create a home gym and a storage area and it looks absolutely amazing. Everyone we worked with was professional and work was done quickly. The point person checked in with us on a regular basis letting us know each step of the process. They were quick to answer any questions we had an even worked with us to make the project fit our budget. They are a fabulous company to work with and we would (and have) recommend them to anyone.

When we bought our house in SE Division area back in 2001 we knew we loved the view and thought the neighborhood would improve. Fast forward 20 years and we reached a point in life where we could afford to turn our place into what we always knew it could be. Hamish Murray was extremely flexible when it came to the bidding process and the various hoops we had to jump through to for the bank to finance our construction loan (check out Clackamas County Bank.) With Hamish Murray the price they quoted you is the price you’re going to pay. While we made them suffer through countless change orders as we added mid-project upgrades, never did I hear that something was going to cost more than was originally quoted. I grew up working on wooden boats and old houses on the east coast, so often when I look at modern construction it doesn’t feel like it has the same craftsman attention to detail as you’d see in early 20th century work. That’s not the case with Hamish Murray. The subs they used cared deeply about their craft and you can tell in every corner. If something looked at all sloppy, it was redone without question or cost to me. Concrete was re-poured, cabinets were repainted - the level of quality assurance was what you’d expect out of a builder making their own home. Every morning as I have my coffee I feel like I’m on vacation in a fancy boutique hotel, but its my kitchen! Every night as tuck in the kids and lock up, I feel like I’m already in a dream. We have completed several projects with Hamish Murray Construction and continue to work with them. They are a highly professional organization and are very easy to work with. They are attentive to our design intent and reliable in both pricing and schedule. In short, they are an honorable company that we frequently have the opportunity to recommend to our clients.

We hired an architect/designer to draw plans and select finishes for our long planned extensive kitchen remodel and half bath addition, which touched the main level and exterior of our home & all the home systems. The architect recommended we solicit a bid from Hamish Murray. We found the bid to be well thought out and competitive. After construction was underway, our architect suddenly resigned leaving behind inaccurate plans and specifications. This caused us to have to redesign the kitchen on the fly from thousands of miles away, with no experience and limited ability to be on site. This was very challenging for us and for our Hamish Murray contractor. Despite this, Hamish Murray stuck to their bid and construction calendar. Communication, billing, and project communication was extremely professional throughout. The crews were respectful, clean, and well-coordinated. One especially nice feature is a website through which all parties may communicate with messages, pictures, schedules, etc., which was invaluable from thousands of miles away.

Developed a good working relationship early with Hamish Murray Construction on what proved to be a complicated and very detailed remodel. With open communication and a solid sense of professionalism as their best traits, we would enjoy working with them again.

My husband and I hired Hamish Murray Construction to do a complete remodel to our 1954 day light ranch. Work included replacing all of the windows (and moving most of them to new locations), replacing all of the siding, re-insulating the entire house, gutting and redoing the kitchen, adding a master bathroom and closet, re-doing the guest bath and powder room, replacing all of the electrical and plumbing systems, refinishing the floors, installing custom cabinetry, and renovating the existing fireplace. Hamish Murray Construction was professional and timely throughout the entire process. Their crews showed up when expected and always cleaned up after themselves every day. The only cost overruns were caused by unexpected conditions (broken pipes found underground! :( - otherwise, they stuck to their bid. Every day we knew what work was to be done that day and who would be there to do it. Hamish was on site almost every day to oversee the work and answer questions. We would absolutely hire Hamish Murray Construction again. Their attention to detail and follow-through to the end of the project were fantastic. Every item on our punch list was addressed and I have no doubt that if something else pops up, Hamish will be there to remedy the situation.

Our project was challenging, a full remodel with a tight no-frills budget. We managed to work things around so that we could afford good quality upgrades where the really counted. The team showed real dedication to the project even when it seemed like our financing would fall through and they found solid solutions to each obstacle that came up. The quality of the workmanship is quite high and all of the employees on the various crews have been great to interact with. Especially nice is the fact that they have kept to a tight construction schedule and have met each date without any issues and have managed to catch up when things like the weather have interrupted plans. I have recommended the team to others and have seen the flyers left at the job site get picked up by many in our neighborhood.
