Masterclass millwork melted our unsquare spaces into a seamless and surprisingly satisfying, transformative success. Trades showed on time as Roost treats them well and with respect leaving them motivated to be there. These guys compliment each other's work and respond to problems positively.

We were impressed with how closely Roost stuck to the schedule we were given at the beginning of the project. The only glitch was that one weather-sensitive task was not scheduled early enough in the fall. Also, the detailed estimate they provided was very close to the final cost. Most of the suppliers they use were very helpful. The contractors they use seemed responsible and professional. The workmanship generally appeared very good. They were flexible in arranging times to meet with us and were readily available to answer questions. We appreciated the gift certificate for cleaning that we were given at the end.

We hired Roost Custom Builders Ltd. for a complete knock down and redo of our basement complete with a new 3/4 bath, kitchen, dinning room, and second floor full bath. The finished product was fantastic, our basement is now warm and cozy, no more dungeon feeling. The kitchen project is a our pride and joy. Roost gave us a chef's kitchen in a very small area, perfect for entertaining, we haven't stopped since April 2013. The main bath is a beauty. Everything we asked for we received, a few surprises, not the fault of Roost, took us a bit over budget, but all in all we have a brand new home inside the existing shell. Our only suggestion would be to have a cleaning crew come in once the project was complete, but we did live in the home during renovations, which was harder on the crew then possibly on us.

Roost planned and completed our basement renovation. They were on budget and completed the project within the timeframe that they estimated. Their recommendations - cork floor, spray foam insulation, and a funky barn-style sliding door - made our basement rec room comfortable, functional, and stylish. We would hire Roost again, without question.

Roost made our dream come true. Our project scope was building two additions, which included a kitchen, sun room and bedroom. They also added a bathroom to our basement and redid most of the flooring in our home. A compliment to the builders is that people often wonder when they tour our home where the old ends and the new starts. We were impressed with their teamwork, integrity and craftsmanship. Like a symphony conductor, the contractor organized his employees, sub-trades and supplies to create the beautiful house we now enjoy. They were so organized that they were done a week ahead of the move in date we were given.

Roost is the only company that I would gladly hire again to complete another renovation. Roost was highly recommended to me when I was looking for someone to completely renovate my basement. It was a big job involving new walls (studs, insulation and drywall) a suspended ceiling, new electrical panel, wiring, lighting, etc. In the past few years I have had hired numerous other so-called "professionals" to renovate various rooms in my home and have been alarmed by how most do more damage than actual improvement. Roost is a welcome exception. I met with Myron Martens, the contractor, and was impressed with his enthusiasm and knowledge. He is very pleasant and easy to talk to and his quotation was surprisingly reasonable. He took out permits for all aspects of the job, which many other contractors are reluctant to do. The work began promptly and continued at a steady pace. The workers were very experienced and really friendly. An old buddy of mine--an expert finishing carpenter--would stop by occasionally to comment on their work. He always had high praise for everything he inspected and would often point out details that he felt were truly exceptional. Myron and his crew would communicate with me at every step of the way and include me in every decision, such as the style of pot lights, ceiling tiles, light switches and so on. I always felt part the renovation. I was thrilled when Myron solved a nagging problem: I had a telepost smack in the way of my stairs. It was supporting the house and it seemed that nothing could be done. Fortunately, Myron came up with a brilliant solution and solved the problem once and for all. And what an improvement! I can honestly say that every day of the project was a pleasure. The workers really enjoyed their work and took genuine pride in it. They would consult me whenever there was an option to be considered, and at the end of each day they would explain what had been done. And they always cleaned up before leaving. Roost gave me a beautiful basement and an enjoyable experience. I am happy to write this review as both an expression of my gratitude for a job so well done, and as a sincere recommendation to any reader looking for someone to trust with their home renovation project.
