Square One Development Group is an architect-led custom home builder serving Washington, DC, Maryland, and Virginia. For more than three decades, we have been the builder the region's most celebrated architects trust with their most important work — award-winning, widely published homes recognized with a national AIA Institute Honor Award and International Architecture Awards, and featured in Architectural Digest, Dwell, and Interior Design. We build bespoke new homes, whole-house renovations, and the complex, detail-driven work others avoid: structural glass, board-formed concrete, hillside sites, and finishes executed to the tolerances modern design demands. We have built homes designed by Tom Kundig of Olson Kundig, David Jameson FAIA, MODE4 Architecture, and Dirk Denison Architects. Every design award belongs to the architect. Our credential is having built the recognized work. We engage early to protect both the design and the budget, and we stay involved long after move-in through Square One Care, our ongoing home care program. Discretion is part of how we work.
