About Us

Fearless describes both the spirit and work of ALISONDAMONTE After graduating from Washington University in St. Louis with a degree in Political Science, Alison moved to San Francisco with no job, no apartment and one Niels Møller chair she found on the street. Though she always dreamed of becoming an architect, she soon realized her love of bold patterns, vivid colors and rare vintage furniture was better suited to interior design. Honing her skills at Martha Angus and Brayton Hughes Design Studios, Alison established her eponymous firm in 2012. Inspired by the idea of limitless possibility born in the Space Age and a desire to express personality with color Alison and her team bring a playful, modern sensibility to every project. Whether designing a Berkeley home for a busy, art-loving family or an urban, rock and roll pied-à-terre, the San Francisco-based firm infuses each project with whimsical, California cool.

Alison is great – we've worked with her on multiple projects including our old house in San Francisco and our current home in Palo Alto. They were great at both adapting to and including existing pieces and then also designing some rooms or places completely from scratch. Alison and crew were always attentive, timely and flexible. We are big fans!

Alison is one of a kind, her taste is amazing AND she listens to her clients (me) for what our needs are and what really will work for us. She doesn't compromise on taste and style while understanding client needs and preferences. Our home is AMAZING because of her work and we get so many compliments from guests.

As soon as I saw Alison's website I knew I found my person. I absolutely love her design sensibility, her style, her everything... She is super clever and finds the most interesting pieces whether it is a vase or end table. Alison is also GREAT at mixing high and low end items... again whether is it a bathroom sconce or chandelier. In addition, love her use of color and "white" space. She designed our 1300 sq ft condo perfectly, which I LOVED until the day we moved... now we are working together again to create a bohemian/modern look in our new 5k sq ft home... it needs lots of love, and she is once again my person! Thanks A!

Alison is incredible! So thoughtful, stylish, and does a wonderful mix of vintage and new. She has helped me with multiple different homes, with different styles, and I love all of it as do my guests! Very much listens to clients and gets to know their style/likes, also not afraid to take risks that end up working amazingly well. Wouldn't work with anyone else.
