Chris and i worked on a project in Lakeside, CA. It was a pleasure to work with chris and he was very creative.

Chris is presently assisting us with an extensive remodel and addition to our home. The scope of his work has included bath and kitchen design, interior paint and floor selections, exterior color and siding choices, furniture selection, interior door selection, window treatment and many other associated details. Working with Chris has been a pleasure. Perhaps of foremost importance, we have found him to be an outstanding designer. He has a keen eye for material and color coordination and presents a slew of creative design ideas. Also of particular importance to us, he creates aesthetically pleasing spaces predicated on function and intended use. Chris is a great listener. He has spent a great deal of time getting to know us and developing an understanding of our vision for our home -- to the point where his understanding of our vision has become intuitive. Chris exhaustively researches even the smallest details. He always presents a variety of options for any given design choice or challenge, and (due to his commitment to us and the project) the presented options are always consistent with our larger vision for our home. He clearly explains the advantages and disadvantages of different design options, and provides honest, objective feedback in connection with our thoughts and questions. Chris has worked seamlessly with our architect and contractor. He has been of great assistance in keeping us on track with decisions, helping to avoid project delays, and efficiently managing his part of the project. We recommend Chris without reservation. I thought myself as knowledgeable, creative, having some design sense and above average handyman skills. After all, I browse Houzz regularly. So I didn't panic at all when my house flooded and offered me the opportunity to redesign virtually my entire house. It didn't take long before I found myself overwhelmed and just paralyzed as to how to get this project going. It was then I called Chris of CHJ for a consultation. We talked, (mostly I talked and he listened) and from his few words of assurance I knew he understood what my design vision was for the house. Furthermore, he offered ideas then and frequently along the way to bring cohesion to the design so that it looked and felt like single home that flowed easily and aesthetically from room to room. Bathrooms, flowed into bedrooms, that flowed into the kitchen and living room without an ounce of discourse. I learned that small things such as thresholds, electrical switches, positioning of flooring all go into assuring a cohesive feel to a home and not a collection or decorated rooms that have no connection with another. I could never have achieved my design vision or the sense of comfort I now have in my home without Chris.
