S. Lee Wright Ltd.

About a year ago, I hired Lee Wright to help me transform my "space." And by the end of our project, I not only had a beautiful room, but I learned a tremendous amount about design, and architecture, and - maybe most importantly - about myself. Lee, of course, has all of the qualities that, in my view, are important in any professional. She is very bright. She is highly skilled. And she is exceedingly knowledgeable in design and architecture. Her knowledge of her industry and her working relationships with vendors and other professionals are immediately apparent and comforting. She is efficient, and punctual, and responsive. From a fundamental business standpoint, in terms of logistics and communication, Lee is simply outstanding in all respects. But what sets Lee Wright apart, in my view, is the passion and intensity she brings to the project. Lee is dynamic and genuine. I believe that Lee was able to create a space that I love because she cared enough to take the time to learn about me; what I like and dislike; what I wanted from the space; and what I wanted from my life. I felt like working with Lee was not a project. It was not about colors and layouts. It was a brief journey during which I was encouraged to think deeply, and reflect honestly about myself. And it was like this for me simply because of the way Lee approached it. And to top it all off, Lee has an impeccable sense of style, which when it comes to architecture and design, is an absolute necessity. I would not hesitate to recommend Lee Wright to anyone for any aspect of architecture and design consulting for any project - large or small. She is an amazing woman. And she does amazing work. I hired Lee Wright to help with a new appartment in 2012. The job consisted of selecting paint, furniture, curtains and room design. Lee was always informed, organized and timely. She provided ideas and choices of providers. I was very satisfied.

Having moved into an older building with a unit that needed updating, Lee provided excellent guidance as to what would work, how feasible certain requests were, and kept well within our discussed budget. I not only wanted to paint and wall paper throughout the apartment, change light fixtures, and put up a back splash and counter top/eating area in the kitchen but also wished to find furniture and accents to compliment the new colors and atmosphere. Lee gave me a written plan of shapes along with a list of dealers/locations within easy travel distance to view and choose from. She allowed me to do what I wanted by myself although was available to assist if I had asked. At all points of the project, she was in contact with both me and the contractor (she provided excellent contractor suggestions). What I appreciated most was that she listened to my desires and the finished product came in under budget, on time, and was exactly what I wanted.

Lee helped my husband and I plan out and select the colors, layout, "living flow", and ideal decor for our home. Along with 2 young boys, we had moved in 3 years earlier yet were still living amidst unfinished construction and stripped walls. We had reconfigured rooms on different occasions in an attempt to make the house "feel and work" better for us, yet still felt sapped by the unhealthy space we had created. Lee's approach and ideas were exactly what we needed to rejuvenate our home renovations. First, Lee provided us with an education on how the different parts of our home affected our lives. Her holistic processes made for a very thorough, refreshing, and inspirational foundation. She delved into our family patterns, ways of living, and helped us identify our goals for our spaces and what each of our priorities were. Lee's approach ensured that everything about our renovations was tailored to supporting all of our dreams and needs for our home. She also helped us make tough choices when my husband and I didn't see eye to eye. She was able to talk us through our differences and make us both feel that our goals were met. Lee's personality is a very effective blend of take charge and collaboration, making her enjoyable to work with and making you feel like you are part of the journey with her. For each problem area, Lee recommended many solutions ranging from simple (easily doable and inexpensive) to longer-term and more costly. She helped us make the choices that were right for what we wanted to accomplish and for our budget. Yet, we still have so many ideas to take everything to the next level when our time and budget permits. Lee allowed us to maintain our own styles, while recommending key furniture and decor choices that would help us achieve our goals over time. It's been a year now and even the seemingly small changes that we've been able to make have made a dramatic difference about how we feel and live in our home. And we still have so many great ideas to execute that I get excited thinking about it! I really can't say enough wonderful things about Lee, as a person and as a design architect professional. She will make positive changes in your home, your business, and in you! Obviously, I highly recommend working with Lee in any capacity that you are able.

First, I wish I could give a half star as the job was a bit better than okay and deserves 2 and 1/2 stars. Second, Lee did a total redesign and gut renovation of my kitchen, dining room and living room area as well as work in other rooms. Lee is very enthusiastic about her work and you know she enjoys what she does. Her ideas were good and she is very creative, easy to work with, listens to you and was never a know it all. However there were a lot of mistakes: some of which were mine and some hers. For instance, her design of my kitchen did not leave a lot of room for the refrigerator and we had a very limited choice of units. The unit she chose was a small GE which fit the space but was awful: I had to bend all the way down to the floor to get to the bins ( which I never used), had wire shelves which allowed small containers to slip through, did not come with a shelf in the freezer ( which I had to buy) and which I just replaced after only 2 years of use. My mistake: not insisting I see and "touch" the actual unit- her mistake- the visual for the practical. Additionally, the lighting in the kitchen area was not sufficient and the fixtures of poor quality. Her design called for a fan in the space between the kitchen and the extension but the ceiling could not accommodate the fan and I was 'out' the cost of the fan. The under counter lights are hot and don't provide sufficient light and are unusable. I'm currently doing repairs and fixes and all the lighting is being redone and replaced. Third, I needed to replace the master bathroom floor. I picked three colors of little round tiles and approved the design. I came home the day the work was done and saw that one color of tile was not used, the design was not what we agreed on and I was never consulted. When I asked Lee why the third color wasn't used she said she and the tile guy thought it was better with just two colors! I do not like the out come but will live with it as I do not want to go to the expense to replace the tile. Finally, I agreed to recover two swivel rockers and an ottoman that are in my living room. We picked fabric, the pieces were reupholstered and returned. Everything looked very nice however within weeks the fabric showed very obvious signs of wear. Lee brought in the upholsterer and someone from the company that made the fabric and every one pointed a finger at each other. The result: I just bought new fabric of a different type from a different manufacturer and had the pieces redone after only two years of use.
