My builder uses Houzz Pro to plan the timeline and give detailed estimates and daily updates with photos of progress, and provide invoices at pre-agreed key points in the build. This made the whole experience much more efficient and stress-free.

At Murakami Design Inc., we are in the business of creating and building residences that bring comfort and delight to the lives of their owners. Murakami provides the full range of services involved in designing and building new homes, or in thoroughly reconstructing and updating existing dwellings. From historical research and initial sketches to construction drawings and on-site supervision, we work with clients every step of the way to achieve their vision and ensure their satisfaction. After losing our 50 year old family cottage in a tragic fire Ray Murakami designed us a spectacular dream cottage. He worked in excellent tandem with our design needs and wishes during a stressful and difficult time. His team was intimately involved throughout the whole project with invaluable support, supervision, ideas and problem-solving advise. One of Ray's many creative strengths....the new design blends seamlessly into the Georgian Bay landscape. I feel such joy in my new space.

We hired Ray to help us design our dream cottage on Georgian Bay ! It was a somewhat complex project given that there were several buildings that were non conforming but rays team managed to obtain the appropriate approvals that were advantageous taking advantage of the magnificent views including a beautiful rock outcropping which became the feature of our amazing courtyard. We look forward each summer to spending time here

Working with Murakami Design on the building of our home was one of the highlights of our project. Ray and his team created the most beautiful and functional space for our family. The entire team was always very creative, helpful and collaborative throughout the process. It was always a pleasure and fun working with them. I am a very picky person whose attention to detail can be excessive. There were also some complex design elements to our project. They dealt with all of our challenges and my many requests with creativity and expertise. The end results surpassed all of our expectations. I would give Murakami Design the highest referral.

We hired Murakami Design to design our new home. As we were new to this we were feeling a little overwhelmed at first - however as we worked more and more closely with Ray and Asia all our apprehensions were put to ease. They made sure that we got everything that we wanted - and we did! They were a pleasure to work with - very professional and very approachable - very key when you have as many questions as I did! Thanks you Murakami Design - can't wait to move into our new home!

Ray has worked with us on numerous projects at our home in the City (including a front porch, free standing garage, back patio and pergola and a substantial expansion to the house footprint) as well as a complete re-build of our ski cabin. He is a delight to work with - full of fantastic creative ideas (traditional and contemporary) and an easy-going and accessible interpersonal style.
