We have worked with Scott Flegel for well over 10 years. His company completed a major remodel for us in 2007 - pretty much going to the studs ( a few hundred thousand $$) on an Eichler in Palo Alto. Since then he has completed several smaller jobs. He and his crew are conscientious, on time, on budget, organized and amazing at keeping the site clean. Scott communicates promptly. The quality of his work is topnotch. It is clear that we value him highly since we keep hiring him for projects. The most recent job was managing a roof replacement and adding solar panels and batteries (Nov 2019).

We would without hesitation highly recommend Scott Flagel of Flagel's Construction. We hired Scott to be a GC on a 2nd story deck remodeling project. Scott was thorough in going over the timing, budget and any known issues our project might entail ahead of time. We had concerns over the high cost our deck was going to incur but he broke it down by line item and when reviewed in that aspect, it made sense. Communication during the project was excellent. We had weekly meetings to discuss the ongoing progress and any issues that might have come up. If urgent items came up outside of this meeting, he would call us or email depending on importance. He also responded quickly when we had questions of him. Our project was a bit different in that it had steel posts (vs. wood), steel railings and tiled decking. Scott had access to the right subs when needed and made sure they did the job to our satisfaction. He made our long envisioned project a reality. Would highly recommend him. Awesome job!!

Scott Flegel of Flegel’s Construction Company is a superior provider of remodeling services. He was recommended to us by a neighbor in our condominium, and we could not have been more pleased. Scott and his team completed the 6-month project within a week of schedule, and provided outstanding suggestions to our design consultant and to us as well. Our design changed a 1970’s California mid-century modern to 21st century contemporary. One of the major management tools was to have an on-site supervisor to insure pro9jecxts happened on schedule and to keep the subcontractors in line as well as other labors, very effective. We have received nothing but high praise from neighbors, family, and friends for the workmanship and overall design and feel of the completed project. A 5 star rating are a few stars too few. I would hire Scott again in a heartbeat. He did our Eichler total remodel from roof to radiant. The workmanship is 5-star. Scott understands the uniqueness of Eichlers and modern design. The team was onsite all day, every day for the duration of the project so there were no delays or down-time. His network of subcontractors is equally stellar. Cost was reasonable and in line with the competition. He was on time and in budget given changes we made along the way. We lived in our home the whole time and were very happy that the team was so professional - a pleasure to be around and accommodating to our presence. Scott and everyone he brought into our home were exceptionally easy to talk to and work with. I felt like a partner in the project. Before hiring him, I called 8-10 references and they were all glowing, which influenced my decision to go forward. Now I can add my highest recommendation to Flegel's list of happy clients.

Scot is a pleasure to work with. He is thoughtful, patient, good with communication and stuck to timelines. He is truly a craftsman and in addition to high standards and high quality work, he was great with creative problem solving for numerous design issues in the remodeling and updating of our Victorian home. He has a solid crew and, specifically, his superintendent Scot Carter is an absolute gem. The project increased in cost, but only because of agreed upon increase in scope. His crew went above and beyond in working round the clock to move us back into our house and meeting an agreed upon deadline- even though circumstances had changed that could have justified further delay. His costs are fair and he patiently explains billing inquiries and corrects any errors. We actually hired Scott and Scot twice- once for an initial bedroom/bathroom remodel and again for a much larger complete house renovation. On the bigger project, Scott exceeded even our high expectations. I can't recommend Flegel's highly enough!

Scott did two phases of renovation on our house. He's our go-to contractor. He hires solid carpenters and subcontractors, and communicates really well with them and with the homeowner. The few things that didn't go right were uncovered and dealt with quickly and honestly. Scott really is a pleasure to work with.

I wish I could leave TEN stars ! Flegel's construction exemplifies the phrase "Quality Work at a Fair Price." I had Scott and his crew do a major remodel in 2012 (kitchens, baths, etc.) and they completed the job ON TIME and WITHIN BUDGET. I subsequently had them come back for two additional phases of remodeling 2014 and 2016 and I had the same positive experience with them,. Work was exceptional ! Don't even THINK about anyone else, or you're likely to be either broke or disappointed. Flegel's is the ABSOLUTE BEST

In 2013 we came across the opportunity to purchase a run-down 1964 rare atrium-model Eichler in Burlingame, CA with the intention of restoring & updating. With the help of experienced Eichler remodeling professionals like contractor Scott Flegel, our Eichler was upgraded while still staying true to the mid-century modern Eichler spirit. He brought the aesthetic back to 1964, but upgraded the structure to 2014. Scott has a fantastic attitude, great professionalism and communication, and the single-most organized, efficient, and deadline-oriented construction team I have ever heard of. Plus, they're REALLY nice - the entire team, the office staff, and even their subcontractors. We would absolutely love to work with them again in the future. This Eichler was a "full gut" restore/rescue: the house, which was previously inhabited by 12+/- people as a halfway house, and had endured tragic and significant abuse. The wear & tear was horrifying: mystery stains on the ceiling panels; mismatched lighting & paint; grungy carpet; gouged, sloppily patched & horribly stained mahogany walls; chipped & cracked tiles; rusty fixtures; countless fire hazards and exposed wires, etc. 100% of the windows needed to be replaced with double-paned tempered glass, and 100% of the electrical system & wiring needed to be replaced. The configuration of the bathrooms, hall closet & laundry was awkward and impractical, but the bones of the house were good, as were the original copper-pipes of the radiant heating system, though the boiler system did get upgraded to a compact combo unit, controllable with a modern "Nest" thermostat. Some of the bathroom/laundry room & hallway space had to be reconfigured, inserting a half bathroom into the previously inefficient configuration of this area of the house. The kitchen was in sad shape and had to be completely rebuilt with modern Ikea cabinetry, 100% of which Flegel installed and customized. The kitchen island was a challenge because of complications in switching the placement of the appliances and water lines to a safer and more user-friendly configuration, but Flegel managed with a smile and impressive results. The dining room was dark & depressing...by replacing an expanse of dining room wall to the outside with a wall of floor-to-ceiling glass, then removing the wall separating the dining room and living rooms, the space was subsequently flooded with natural light and openness, drastically improving the connection with the greenery outdoors. Flegel had the added challenge of a rotting wood & untempered glass front wall of the atrium...it was so unstable it had to be rebuilt, but he was able to move the wall a few feet towards the street, tying it in with an existing structural beam, lending added stability to the new glass wall and front door configuration. This led to an expansion in square footage for the already ample atrium space. The entire property is now one seamless, flawless, zen feast for the eyes. The entire renovation from the initial meeting to move-in date and the close of the "punch list" was 10 months. We are thrilled with the open and bright end result!

Scott has been our remodel contractor for many years and has provided excellent service and great workmanship. He has done our master bath, kitchen and living room and office. The work has been performed in a timely manner and for reasonable cost. Very professional. Were we to build a new home we would pick Flegel's Construction.

Scott and his crew did an outstanding job on our major addition/remodel. There was no problem he couldn't solve or mistake he couldn't fix. The quality of the materials and workmanship was consistently first rate. The crew, as well as the subcontractors, were professional and personable.
