Simply put, A. Perry made our dream home become a reality. We initially discovered A. Perry on Houzz. After interviewing several builders, we vetted A. Perry by interviewing past clients. We were impressed because every single family gave glowing reviews! Since then, the Perry team helped us find our property, design our home and build it. From beginning to end, the experience with A. Perry was very special. Building a custom home is no small feat, and doing it during a pandemic presents extra, unique challenges. The Perry team took every detail we brought to them, and did their best to make every item happen. From design to execution, the Perry team worked hard to make the process smooth. We worked with A. Perry on the reconstruction of a condo unit. Their design team did a fantastic job of envisioning what we could do with the space (actually two units combined into one). Then the construction started. This was an entire demo, including removing or moving most interior walls, bathrooms, etc. The project took a bit longer than envisioned but the Covid 19 pandemic slowed things down. Key to the success was our interior designer, Artists Concepts, who worked with A. Perry the whole way. The project is completed and we are thrilled with the results. And taking care of the punch list items, which is always an issue, went very smoothly thanks to the project manager Tom Ellison. The only cautionary note I would add is that many of the allowances in the initial budget were not reasonable for the quality we planned to use for cabinets, tile, counters, fixtures, etc. So make sure you plan for what your living style expects, not for what they put in the allowances. But we are thrilled with the final project.

The customer service at A.Perry Homes is top-notch! We have a screened-in-porch with heated floors and a fireplace, and we wanted to be able to use it during the winter. With a big party coming up, A.Perry Homes came to our rescue and sealed up the screened in porch with vinyl sheeting prior to our event. After reaching out to them, they immediately got back to us, proposed various solutions to help us enclose the porch, and then they sent someone over right away to get the job done. Our porch went from being the same temperature as outside (in the 20s in Chicago) to the mid-60s with the heated floor, fire in the fireplace, and vinyl sheeting protecting us from the cold winds. It was perfect for the party! Mike Zaban did a fantastic job, as did Anthony Perry who helped him hang the sheeting. The whole job took them less than a day to complete, and they left our home in pristine condition. We had an emergency right before Thanksgiving in our kitchen, short story we called A. Perry Homes, and they had someone out the same morning. By that afternoon, we had the stone company out to remedy the situation and the appliance company later that week, in time for hosting our family in our home. We recently began working with A. Perry Homes after deciding to renovate/add on to our existing home. From the very beginning during the architectural phase, through the design phases, and ultimately getting keys to our home, the A. Perry team and contractors were professional and great to work with. For the most part, deadlines were met and we stuck fairly close to our original budget. We went over slightly due to our own changes and direction. The A. Perry team is always responsive to our questions, concerns, and needs - and continues to be so since final construction was completed. A Perry Homes delivers exceptional quality. They are a one stop shop in the sense of providing both design as well as construction (bidding out their own contractors, etc.) Unlike one stop shopping, though, which generally has a discount feel, the product at Perry Homes is a boutique experience. Exceptional taste. Beautiful finishes. Also not the least expensive option, to be sure. As for withholding a final star, there were moments which weren't so perfect (which will happen with any major construction project). It's important to know what materials, exactly, you receive for the price you negotiate at the project's beginning (also whether the negotiated cost, if discounted at all from original quote, discounts labor costs or the materials you will receive). Also know that sometimes customer service may feel compromised depending on the scope of the project (you may feel demoted if your overall project is smaller than another happening at the same time). Otherwise, having moved into our house, after all was said and done, and having lived several years with the finished product, we've always felt as though our construction was top notch--from design to finish. Compliments on our house abound. A Perry does a beautiful, exceptionally high quality job. There's a reason why they aren't the least expensive option in town :)

A. Perry builders helped us design build a custom kitchen with a larger footprint. They sat down with us and listened to our wants and needs and designed a kitchen not only around that, but also our lifestyle. Hidden dishwasher and warming drawers to Under and in cabinet lighting, to hidden cat hideaways and dog food storage, no detail was overlooked. They also made a lot of suggestions we didn't even think were possible. I have seen other homes done by A. Perry and they definitely have a unique but welcomed and inviting style to their design and design process. They also aren't a one and done builder, they welcome you into their family and make sure you are satisfied with their work well after the project is complete. Their staff and subcontractors are more than accommodating in making sure things get built to your satisfaction. I highly recommend them for your home project weather it be a remodel or new build.

Design was based on our needs and with our close participation and within our constraints, but still with creative solutions and recommendations to yield an overall beautiful layout/design. Our initial goal was to update the kitchen and bathrooms in our 40 year old home. During the concept phase with Tony and John, we expressed our concerns with the layout of our first floor - they returned with an incredibly creative and innovative design plan to utilize our space. In addition to the uniqueness of their design, they incorporated much architectural detail that truly modernized and beautified our home. The project involved working with a variety of vendors (cabinetry, appliance, lighting, plumbing, stone, etc.), a process made enjoyable by Elke, who accompanied us and consulted on purchase decisions. The vendors and tradesmen they used were uniformly of top quality and dependability. The A. Perry team was patient, thoughtful, consistently gave us good advice, and equally important, a delight to work with. Anthony Perry and company changed how I feel about coming home every day. We were a remodel project for them and now I know remodels can offer more challenges than new construction. They listened to our needs and produced a beautiful open floor plan. Using some of our existing square footage and adding around 500 sq feet A. Perry transformed our entire first floor which went from a small LR, tiny DR, 3 season sun porch, 1960's kitchen, and closet sz powder room into a spacious DR which used to be the OLD LR, (genius idea) a bar area, a YEAR ROUND sun porch, a family room, gourmet galley kitchen, breakfast area, nice sz bathroom w/a walk in shower, and beautiful built ins which provided much needed storage.
