K LINN Interiors is a design firm based in Grand Rapids, Michigan. We create functional, beautiful spaces. We take the initial steps to understand your lifestyle and needs. Listening translates to inspiration, creating a lifestyle unique to you. Small-scale and large-scale projects receive the same attention. The outcome is beautiful spaces in which to live, entertain and enjoy for years to come. K LINN Interiors is excited to offer art consulting and curation. We represent a range of artists emerging and established. We will work with your specific style, taste, size requirements and budget to best identify works for you to consider. We take into account artists that you like, artists you admire, a select piece of furniture, wallpaper or concept to identify specific works for you. We know our clients are often updating, moving things around and relocating. We offer collection management for this specific need. We will come into your home and develop the best curation proposal using your existing artwork. We use local experts for reframing, repair and updating your art. We will plan out your space and find the best fit for you. K Linn Interiors' owner, Karen VanderWerp started her career in interior design over 30 years ago. Her appreciation of style at any budget has allowed her to work with homes of all sizes both residential and commercial projects. Karen is also the owner and founder of K LINN, a custom furniture line specializing in high end reclaimed wood furnishings. K Linn's pieces are handcrafted, one of a kind and made in the USA. The furnishings incorporate superior craftsmanship, creativity and imagination into the design process and furniture line, and they believe in re-purposing high quality reclaimed wood into fine furnishings for your home. We transitioned from a home of 30 years to an independent retirement community. We took some furnishings from our home but decided to purchase new furniture and decor that would complement our new home and lifestyle. The best decision we made was hiring Karen from K LINN Interiors. Karen listened very carefully to my goals, along with likes and dislikes. She then proceeded to select everything to complete our home from furniture, lamps, and home decor to rugs and window treatments. Without Karen‘s professional help, my home would never look and function like it does! Karen not only listened well to select the perfect furnishings to meet our needs but, also, adhered to our budget. The outcome is a home that is not only suits us well, but it’s beautiful too. I highly recommend Karen, knowing that you’ll enjoy working with her as much as I did!

It has been wonderful working with Karen on decorating my condo! She has had a wealth of great ideas and suggestions, and always presents more than one option to choose from. She listens to what I have said I liked and incorporates these ideas into her design. She is aware of the current styles/trends and knows how to use them in a way that is still very timeless. Karen communicates well and she has always arrived on time. Working with her has made this project easy and even enjoyable!

Ken was totally engaged in this project and was receptive to new ideas. That included all details to personalize the home for his current lifestyle and moving forward. That quest involved a custom color palette in commissioned art, fabrics and decor along with implementation of some unique lighting applications. We pushed boundaries curating a mirror with art that set the stage for exploration of other creative ideas. Ken made this a project one, we are pleased to share.

My husband and I met Karen through a referral from a local framing service, We recently downsized to a smaller home, and our open floor plan has less wall space for art placement. We secured Karen's professional design services to guide us in sorting through our wall art and helping us prioritize our favorites. She first identified appropriate wall spaces for our larger artwork and then made suggestions for filling in the smaller spaces with complementary pieces. Karen asked good questions and then listened to our preferences. During the actual installation she continued to suggest unique placements that we would not have considered without her expertise. Her ideas created an optimal balance between our priorities and the reality of less wall space for display. Karen is a true design professional, and with her expert eye for installing our diverse artwork into an eclectic furniture setting, she guided us to an overall fresh and comfortable feel throughout our new space.

Other than the opportunity to create spaces that are inviting and comfortable, we are given the opportunity to meet the loveliest people. Pam and her husband are no exception. We assisted with collection management of more than 20 pieces of art collaborating on each space, who would spend time there, developing a plan and the best fit. Karen was great to work with. She came up with fabulous ideas for our house. Suggestions we had not even thought about and that we subsequently implemented! Her service was punctual, patient, and detailed. She came multiple times and at odd hours (due to our work schedules) ) and when we couldn't decide on a fabric helped us and then picked out a better choice when our first choice was not available. She is a good communicator and could gauge when we were veering form the task at hand. And her team was similarly punctual and detailed. We highly recommend her.

I am extremely pleased with how my home turned out. Karen had great ideas, far beyond what I would have come up with on my own. She was there every step of the way during the remodel. I highly recommend using her for any remodel project.

Janelle’s project entailed renovating the kitchen and powder room along with updating a stairwell banister and spindles, paint colors, flooring and the addition of some new furnishings. The existing oak trim throughout the house paved the way for the rich, refreshing green kitchen cabinet selection, introducing an updated vibe, with a warmer color palette in other areas. We also addressed and found simple solutions
to an outdated fireplace brick color and architectural details. Janelle was a true pleasure to work with. The final outcome of aesthetic charm and functional success complimenting her home's picturesque setting is the result of her receptiveness to exploring new ideas.

Karen responding immediately when I asked for help with drapes and upholstery. She had great ideas and brought a number of samples. Karen recommended a vendor and provided bids for the project. I paid her for her time and the materials she ordered for me. I thought we were finished, but she followed up a few weeks later to check that the material was delivered and the upholsterer had contacted me. I will use Karen for any future work in our home. Mary

Karen and her staff did a wonderful job installing our company's legacy wall. Given that the wall is brick, the installation was a bit trickier and Anthony was meticulous. I was under a tight deadline and Karen worked with me to ensure that all pictures were hung by our grand opening events. I would not hesitate to recommend her!

The Kent County Road Commission had their grand opening on July 11. This amazing 29-acre complex facilitates equipment, repair and maintenance buildings, storage, salt barns and administrative offices. We were honored when asked to assist with the legacy wall. The legacy wall not only showcases a pictorial of the history of the commission but also serves as a focal point in the lobby. The photos with their interesting subjects, shapes and frames give a

K Linn helped pick out exterior pain color for my home, May 2022. Karen was extremely receptive to my thoughts on this project and was an excellent listener to my goals. She quickly returned my calls/communications with ideas and plans for me to consider. The final project was completed and is outstanding!!! Extreme pleased and will consult her again!

Jamie wanted assistance updating the exterior of their home. Her goal was a fresh look that made a statement but stayed away from anything trendy. Selecting a darker shingle, brightening the base color, accenting the front door, window trim and peak along with selecting new post and exterior lights with a greater presence worked magic towards accomplishing her desired aesthetic. New landscaping added the finishing touch. It was a fun project! Jamie and Jim are a delight to work with.

From our first encounter, she understood my issues and concerns with downsizing to a retirement facility and brought forward innovative ideas to make our new residence truly our new home. Her work is speedy and insightful and respects our ideas, yet she adds her exceptional insight to use of space and design. She works well with support staff from facilities. We are simply delighted with her services and could not be more pleased with her work.

My family hired Karen to help us with decorating a room for our mother who was on a fast track to move into an assisted living apartment. Karen completed the project in one week! Karen sought out every contact she had to find the items that we needed. From purchasing a couch to finding the right color towels and sheets she handled everything. We were amazed at her tenacity to find just the right piece of furniture or a bedspread that had the colors my mom would love. Karen’s attention to detail, her expertise and willingness to do whatever it took to finish the project on time was appreciated by the whole family. Best of all our mom loved her new room!

I was happy to have Karen recommended from two sources. My job was not a large on, hanging a mirror over a fireplace, but the care and attention she gave me, my lovely restored old mirror, and the task at hand, instilled trust from the beginning. She was attentive when scheduling the job and followed up several times to confirm. She and her helper arrived exactly when she said they would. I felt like she listened to me and showed interest through out. I will be telling friends and family about Karen and K Linn. I only hope I can call her again for a big important job!
