I would highly recommend Brian and the Structerra crew! Brian pays impeccable attention to detail especially regarding sustainability, authentic materials and the installation of those materials and he delivers a superb quality home that is built exceptionally well! BriaAn and crew are honest and perform with the utmost integrity; qualities that are very difficult to find in the construction industry these days!

I had the pleasure of working on one of Structerra's projects, a new build, early in 2016, and was impressed by Brian's professional communication, the well organized work site and project, the skilled and responsive crew, and most especially his strong attention to visual detail and precision. As an artist I am a detail oriented person, and know the value of working with someone who truly wants to "do it right". The finished home is stunning, and I feel honored to have played my small part. He was always professional, and it was clear to me that he was always striving to achieve the absolute best results for his clients. I highly recommend he and the entire Structerra team, wether you are a client or a subcontractor.

We hired Structerra to build our home in Martis Camp in Truckee, CA. This was his first home he built in the camp and they have certain restrictions and guidelines at this high end gated community. We chose Structerra as they were only building 1 home at a time and could give full attention to it. Once we signed the contract and started our home took a bit longer to finish as we decided to have our flooring made of apithong wood planks from our commercial fishing vessels. This was a labor intensive project as they had to be removed from each vessel, pressure washed, driven to the mill in another state and then brought to job site. What I liked about Brian is that he has a very good eye for detail, and in addition to his building knowledge, he is very good with color and assisted with many tile choices and paint color throughout the house. in the bathrooms.

We are sub-contractors to Structerra, and we complete custom installations of wall coverings so we work with many contractors. It is refreshing to work with Brian and his team, they willing to go beyond the usual to assist us by having the areas ready to work in and the job is kept clean. As a team they are more interested in getting the best results for the home owner than the just getting things done. The quality of their finish work and attention to detail is outstanding!

I had the pleasure of meeting Brian and working with Structerra when I was brought onto a project already under construction as the Interior Designer. Walking into the residence for the first time - the site was extremely clean, well managed, and under control. Structerra was great at bringing me up to speed and they had a handle on small items that I would have normally taken care of (had I been on the project since day 1). It was always a pleasure to inquire about something and find that it had already been done. I can't begin to express how thoughtful and thorough Brian and his crew is. Definitely looking forward to working with them again in the future.

When we decided to take on our project to build a new vacation home in Tahoe, we were introduced to Brian Rickauer and his company, Structerra, by our architect, Scott Gillespie of SANDBOX. We had met with other builders, but Brian’s approach to high-quality value-based construction, personal demeanor and enthusiasm for our project quickly made him our top choice. Brian was responsive, attentive and easy to work with throughout the project. Brian is a builder, architect (has an architecture degree) and designer and brings all those skills to every project. He truly understood our vision for a rustic mountain home and helped us achieve the “old Tahoe” look & feel we were seeking in a modern home. He made many suggestions along the way which improved and enhanced the end product, and his attention to detail, use of high quality materials and finishes, expectations for the quality of work from his people and subcontractors all resulted in an incredible home. Brian also did an excellent job keeping us apprised of how the project was doing on time and budget, and he stayed almost exactly on his estimate for the hard construction. The final finishes one chooses obviously influence the final cost, though even for those Brian was quite good at estimating “allowances” and keeping us within or near them. He also found ways to save money in some areas which allowed more freedom in others. Finally, we were 200 miles away for the bulk of the construction and Brian communicated with us frequently and sent many rounds of pictures to update us on progress - I think pictures may have arrived weekly for much of the project. We’ve been in the home about a year now and we are completely thrilled with everything. He has our highest recommendation!

Working with Brian has been very enjoyable, he is very focused on getting the best quality that he can get on his jobs. He has been involved in every small detail of the work that we did to make sure it is exactly what he wants. I believe he has great design ideas and vision for each job that he does and I have personally seen that he works very hard to achieve that level of custom work. Ben

After visiting several of Structerra's completed projects with Brian Richauer, we knew immediately that Brian was the contractor to remodel our Squaw Valley condo. His sense of design, color, esthetics, attention to detail, and work quality were obvious -- and the key factors in our choice of Structerra. We planned on being on the East Coast for the entire CA remodel so choosing a contractor that took a modern approach to communications (email, photo sharing, computerized project plans) was imperative. Brian encouraged us to order many of our selected our products and finishes from his local dependable vendors but also some over the internet if we could save money. This helped keep us on schedule, as we were able to order in-stock items and to track their delivery even though we were not living near the renovation. The detailed project and costs estimates on Brian’s initial bid made us feel comfortable that he would bring the project in on budget - and he did. Space is at a premium in our condominium and Brian paid close attention to our needs. His understanding of space, layout and construction helped us enormously, sometimes down to the inch, as he fulfilled some of our more challenging wish list items. Additionally,“unforeseen problems” arise on every construction project; ours was no exception. Brian handled them positively, professionally, and always offered viable options -- with no pressure -- only the information and recommendations we sought. He quickly earned our complete confidence. The Structerra subcontractors were also superb. (Our satisfaction is proven by the fact we have already used several of them for some “add-on” projects that we decided to do after our remodel was completed). For all the reasons we have described -- and for the beautiful finished product -- Brian Richauer and the Structerra team really stand out. We’re positive we chose the best contractor. And we enthusiastically recommend Structerra to anyone who wants to work with a true professional for an excellent end product.

I have had the best experiences working with Brian, photographing many of his awesome building and remodeling projects. He is a true professional, taking a personal interest in helping stage a property for its photos. Amazing quality, brilliant design, creative ideas, ethical manner, high integrity, kind-hearted, honest approach- and fun too! Brian built a vacation home, remodeled our primary residence and is now building a second vacation home for us. We keep coming back to him because he is fantastic at what he does and makes the whole process fun. He is a builder but has an architecture degree that gives him a great design sense as well as a fantastic eye for interior design. So you get the whole package in one, which is extremely helpful throughout the building process. We can't recommend him highly enough.

Brian is a very honest and respectful contractor. He always followed up on questions that we had about the project. To add to this he was very creative and found things on line that saved us money. The people that worked for him always cleaned up after they worked and were friendly and kept on task. For example we used reclaimed wood from back East on flooring in our new addition to our home. In the new bathrooms we used different granite and tile which was very eye appealing when everything was finished. He found excellent doors for the inside and the outside of our home that were very different. He would send us pictures weekly as to how things were progressing and asked me to look on line for lighting, sinks, granite, etc. and asked me about colors. He met with me at different places to show me things to look at (cabinets, tile, etc.) Also he took me to different homes he had done and I was able to look at his work before I hired him. This is what influenced me to hire his company. In our walk in closet in the new master suite he suggested track lighting and it looks incredible. Our new addition was 1500 sqaure feet to our home and then we remodelled the bathrooms, bedrooms, and took out walls to add a large great room to the existing home. I will add photos if you provide me the information as to how you would like me to send them. As with any building of a new home or remodel you tend to go over your budget. Brian was able to keep our budget within our means and found lots of ways to say us money. I would hire Structerra Inc. again if I was to do any more work on our Tahoe home.
