Our Home renovation was done on time and on budget and without any hassles. Paul Aubrecht has great design ideas but is also an excellent listener and collaborator. His trades are hard working, reliable and do excellent work. We have and will continue to recommend him and his team without hesitation to our friends and family.

It was an amazing experience working with Paul and his team at Emerald Designs. From day one he was a pleasure to communicate with and hash out design ideas for our complete house renovation. He is definitely full of ideas! But at the same time, very flexible to make our ideas come to life... and more. Paul is an absolute expert from relocating the furnace, rewiring electrical, cutting out new windows, advising on quality insulation to keep heating costs down....all the way down to the last details on the finishes. He managed to relocate our kitchen to a newly built addition on the other side of the house, flipped out stairwells around and worked with his engineers to ensure our house could be as open as possible without sacrificing the structural integrity. Details are his strong suit and even had our house painted twice since the first color did not turn out the way he envisioned. It is clear Paul takes a lot of pride in his work and is a perfectionist. We are now fortunate beneficiaries of his obsessive attention to the small details and high standard for quality. We love our home, thank you!!

Paul with Emerald Designs recently completed an extensive full interior renovation of our walkout bungalow. Paul offered a creative and fun approach to the overall experience. He was always available to discuss project details and offer support even after the renovation was complete. We are extremely pleased with the unique design and quality craftsmanship. Emerald provided design consultation, main floor demo and rebuild which included flipping our kitchen from one side to the other. Great explanation of design and flow and in bringing samples that eliminated being overwhelmed by too many choices. Great follow up with sub trades to ensure things were done right! The trades used were also excellent, courteous and easy to work with.

Paul and his crews brought our tired home back to life. Walls were taken down to create an open concept main floor. Patio doors were installed to enhance the view from our deck. The kitchen remodel included an eight foot island with seating and storage as well as custom cabinetry and recessed LED lighting. The custom built railing and refreshed casings and baseboards have been the subject of numerous positive comments from friends and family. Trades consistently went above and beyond with respect to their piece of the project. Having heard many horror stories including from family members we were reluctant to go ahead with Reno’s but our experience with Paul was so positive we had him come back and do our basement and have hired him to complete the upper level as well. The basement renovation is near completion and the experience was just as enjoyable as our previous one. We would and have recommended Paul to anyone with out hesitation. D/L Anderson

My older home was extremely cold due to lack of insulation and an addition which wasn't factored into the heating system. The siding was taken off and styrofoam was installed on the outside of the house and new siding was installed over the styrofoam panels. The entry-way to the house was expanded and a mud-room was developed from existing garage space. Old fire-places were removed and new gas fireplaces were installed.All new fir doors and mill-work were installed. Paul is a good listener and he consults the home-owner on a regular basis. He know what the trades are doing and how they are doing it. I found the trades-men he hires are pleasant and friendly and aim to do a good job. If something needed doing and even if it wasn't directly related to the project they were pleased to help.Paul has had a lot of experience and has the imagination to provide the homeowner with good ideas which make the house more livable. I wanted some quality workmanship and that is what I got. I plan to continue renovating my elderly house, and I plan to hire Emerald Designs to do it!

Paul has an innate capacity to work with his clients throughout the project. He worked very well with Barb and I to develop a conceptual design that ultimately provided the foundation for the completed work. His insight proved to be a good match with both our design expectations and personal taste. With the design set, Paul worked throughout the project in a 'prime contractor' role. In addition to overseeing the work of his trades, he provided much of the general construction services himself. He was very much part of his 'team' of highly qualified trades. In that way he was able to oversee all the work and effectively manage minor schedule and performance issues. Barb and I felt very engaged through out the entire project. Overall, we would summarize Emerald Design Ltd. as experienced, prompt, and courteous with a great attention to detail. Good job Paul!

We hired Paul to help us with a renovation of our master bedroom, ensuite bath and main floor powder room. We appreciated Paul's design sense and ability to work the renovation into the overall style of the rest of the home. He had both practical and creative ability to problem solve in small spaces. The end result was more than we could have asked for.

Paul and his team gave me the basement suite of my dreams. Paul designed a space that truly reflected me and gave me so many ideas and features I didn't even know I wanted. I have an amazing living area, study area, bathroom and my dream closet. Paul kept me informed throughout the entire project, consistently looked for my input and opinion and was a true professional throughout the project. If I could give Emerald Designs 6 stars, I would.

After deciding to renovate versus move from our 28-year old home, using the services of Emerald Designs was the best choice we made. Paul thoroughly explained the whole process before we started, laying out a budget and specifics on his design, and made the entire project a positive experience. Paul's vision for our new space was exceptional; we gutted the whole main and upper floors, moved and removed walls, put in beams and more windows, and the finished product exceeds our expectations. We have been very happy with Paul's detailed input, his hands-on work in our home, and his happy, positive energy throughout what could have been a difficult ordeal (we lived in the home throughout the renovations), which actually made the entire process fun. We made new friends and built relationships with all of the trades along the way. Our home was finished in a reasonable amount of time, considering the extent of work that was done, and he has been sure to make sure that every small detail was finished to our satisfaction. We highly recommend Paul and Emerald Designs for his vision, design, attention to detail, hands-on work, accountability, positive energy, and exceptional finished product.
