Overall we did end up with beautiful hot tub/pool combination. The quality of the work was great on the pool and materials used were high quality. Unfortunately short cuts taken on pool equipment and wiring and we had to have those corrected at the end of the build. Our main complaint was the destruction of our property in the front and backyards to existing landscaping. This was not discussed with our salesperson before excavation started. Communicaton was terrible, crews showed up announced and were disrespectful to our property. Our foreman was switched halfway thru the build adding to communication being a constant problem. There was a lot of room for improvement for our overall experience and we felt like we were fighting with them to step of the way giving them multiple chances to improve. My hope is they can offer a better build experience to future customer's.

If you would like to go with the most expensive pool company that SELLS exceptional service and a distinctive difference be their guest. I paid top dollar for a Keith Zars pool, have received less than acceptable service post-build, and it has flooded twice, the first time less than 30 days after the pool opened. The pool was installed at only a half inch above grade. No one would offer a solution and closed tickets that were opened regarding the flooding issue. Despite their poor design and negligence, my husband mitigated flooding FOR NOW. Mr. Zars saw the issue, admitted we POSSIBLY mitigated future flooding, and offered me $1000. NOPE. Run away!! They do not accept credit card payments for pool construction installation payments to avoid product/service accountability and recourse, will not put completion dates in writing, consistently overpromise and under deliver, show up unannounced leaving gates open, and have no respect for the customer; it is all about what is convenient for them. Counsel in hand and will update.

Not impressed! I have a 20 year old pool and it needs some parts that are Keith Zars specific. When I call to get help with parts to repair my pool I’m told I don’t have a maintenance package with them, and they don’t have a parts department. The only way I can get the parts I need it to get a service technician out for 155 a hour and they are 3 weeks out. I don’t need a technician I just need the parts. Not gonna pay 155 dollars for someone to come tell me what’s wrong when I already know what’s wrong and can fix it my self.

Hello, Thank you for this information. I spoke with my customer service manager to clarify if this is our policy. She did tell me this is not how we would respond to a request for a part. I apologize if you received incorrect information. Our customer service does not quote service time frames, only our scheduler can quote that. We advise our pool owners that do not have the LSPP warranty that need repairs on a specific part that we would need a picture of said part, and we would ask if the homeowner needed this replaced with a technician. If homeowner does not want a billable site visit performed for part and installation, we urge the homeowner to send us pictures of the part or the part number of the part needed, otherwise we can not assist without knowing some kind of reference to the part description. If a homeowner was looking for a KZP specific part, we would more than likely have that part here at our location and would absolutely help our client gain possession of said part, warranty or not. We apologize again if the incorrect information was provided. We would still love to assist you get this part. Please give our customer service a call. 210-494-0800.

Terrible company for service and maintenance. We have had a Keith Zars Pool for over 20 years along with the Lifestyle Protection Plan that costs about $1500 per year. The service at Keith Zars Pool has gone down dramatically over the past few years. I would rate it very poor. It takes MONTHS for someone to come and fix a problem, even though they keep saying someone will come next week, etc. We have a weekly cleaning contract with them but there have been quite a few times when someone never came out. I pay $239 per month for pool cleaning and I have to do it myself! I would caution against building a pool with this company.

Keith Zars built our pool in September 2016. They stand by their product and have the best staff in the pool building business. They are always quick to get back when you call about any problems, which are seldom as the pool is so well built. I can not say enough about Mr. Zar as he really stands behind his product as his ads state. We had a small problem and of course our pool was out of the warranty period. Mr. Zar returned by call personally and had someone come out shortly after my call. The problem was then resolved. Regardless of what other advertise, this company does stand behind their products and really care about their customers. Thank you Mr. Zar.

Keith Zars Pools not only met our expectations, but they exceeded them!! We have owned several pools over the years, but this was the first time we had one constructed. We did our due diligence by researching all the companies in the San Antonio area. After the initial meeting with our sales agent, Kent Ely, we went with this company. Each crew that came to our home was professional, polite and respectful. Bill Sturgis and Madelyn Roop oversaw the project which lead to a seamless process. We had gained permission from our HOA to access our backyard through a green belt and once construction was completed, Bill made sure it was not only restored to its original appearance, but exceeded what it looked like before construction by cleaning up the entire area of trash and construction debris from neighboring new home construction sites. We give this company a 10/10 and will gladly recommend this company to our friends and future clients as we are both Realtors in San Antonio.
