Ikon Windows

Doing a full home gut renovation in Washington, DC, was one of the hardest things my wife and I have ever done. The trades-people we worked with were almost all HORRIFIC to work with. Ikon Windows was one of the rare exceptions. In fact, they were wonderful!! Their staff spent a ton of time working with us to get our order just right. They sent us proposal after proposal making sure all the measurements and customization choices were exactly what we wanted. They took multiple trips from their headquarters in New York City down to Washington (4+ hour drive) to meet with us personally through out the process to make sure our contractors knew how to install the windows and doors, to check issues, and to fix some minor things along the way. They are a family owned company and it was clear to us that they care about each other and work hard to make sure their customers are happy with their product and final result. One of the basement doors we ordered didn't meet the local code requirements. This wasn't really something Ikon did wrong, there was just a misunderstanding between both of us. Still, Ikon refunded us the cost of that door without question. Wait, I didn't even mention the actual windows and doors yet! They are incredible. We went with European tilt and turn windows. We also got a beautiful front door that feels so substantial I love opening and closing it. We also had two types of sliding glass doors at the back of the house that are also beautiful and a joy to operate. We also had two basement doors installed. We went with black on all the exteriors and white on the interiors. They are lovely and the house feels so comfortable in all seasons. The windows are a breeze to operate and when the windows shut, the noise of the street cuts off immediately. I whole hardheartedly recommend IKON Windows to anyone looking to have doors and windows upgraded. I promise you will not be disappointed.

Ikon team is very astute, and professional. They provided me with several pricing options tailored to my needs. I needed high quality windows on a tight budget, and Ikon helped me achieve my requests.

We had an incredibly difficult time with Ikon Windows. We originally made an inquiry for a few pieces and due to super long lead times, reduced the amount of pieces we'd like to order to one and agreed to pay the base shipping fee for the container. The salesperson we worked with was provided with all the details of the door since our very first inquiry. Somehow for 4 weeks, we could not get him to correct the quote which came back with missing or wrong information every single time. Just want to reiterate, we never changed any of the details during this time. Every single mistake made by Ikon Windows required them to send all the details back to their European factory to get an updated quote, which took several days to a week each time. After 4 weeks of working on this project, a day before we were expecting to finally sign the contract, they called us to say they actually cannot deliver our order volume. Yes, they really did this. These people showed no respect for our time, took no responsibility and failed to deliver. We strongly advise against working with this company.

As a high performance builder im always excited to try new high performance products from different places. Ikon met the performance specs for this particular project and claimed a reasonable lead time which is why i chose them. That is where it all went south. 6-8weeks was 5.5months. One of my crates was unpackaged and stored at a const site, then hand loaded onto the shippers truck with no protection between any of the units, just laid against each other and right on the wood crate then sent across the country to my job. By the time they arrived the wood crates had rubbed deep into the frames and the other units laid against each other had rubbed into the frames also. I requested numerous times measurements and pictures and details of the frame thicknesses, sill/threshold details to ensure proper installation, never received any. Even after delivered it was very difficult to get installation instructions. Then a week after all was installed the largest unit a lift and slide door shattered in the cold. Evidently they have glass problems frequently because they told me they dont warranty spontaneously shattered glass, nor would are they willing to take care of the damaged frames from the way they loaded everything! Horrible experience, would never consider them again.

As a custom home builder, I have always used Marvin and Pella for each of my projects. We came across Ikon while building a custom 15,000 SF home in Jamaica Estates. A builder that was completing a project a few streets over recommended we discuss the windows with Ikon. Adrian from Ikon showed up at the job site with beautiful samples and I was able to provide my client with triple glazed, Aluminum Clad pre-finished Meranti wood windows at prices competitive with Pella Architectural Series. The craftsmanship of these windows is amazing. From the arched front windows to the lift and slide door, each window is made with quality and precision. I will recommend Adrian and Ikon to any builder looking to impress their clients and providing a quality product with service to match.

As a General Contractor I work with many different suppliers on various types of projects. I've recently worked on a few projects with Ikon Windows and there was a notable difference in service and professionalism. Everything with regards to the window delivery ran smoothly, there was constant communication and scheduling was made so much easier because of it. During installation they were easily accessible for questions and even sent out a tech to help with adjustments the first time we dealt with the windows. All in all, definitely a 5 star company both in quality of product and quality of servcie!

We had a reno of a coop in NYC. The windows were landmarked and our architect recommended Ikon. We worked together with Charlie Weimer to make this happen. I was overjoyed I would be getting windows of the quality and type I was used to in Germany!!!!!. They were quick with their estimate, their shop drawings, answered all my questions, and even were making arrangements to deliver promptly due to time constrictions we had. Their product looked phenomenal and the price was great! Alas, my architect came back and told us we could not go with the window and proposed door because they could not assure us landmarks would approve based on one detail. We were very upset because this was an oversight on the architects behalf to begin with and would have spared both ourselves and Charlie time and work. And to boot I was not getting my beloved windows..... No questions asked would I consider working with Ikon again for any other future window needs. They were the utmost professional in their dealings with us, even after we had to cancel the order. That level of professionalism is hard to find these days....and seems to be evident by their high ratings by others here on Houzz as well!! A super company with super products and super employees! Thumbs up!!!!

IKON provided triple pane aluminum clad wood windows for one of our passive projects. They were helpful and diligent when we specified the windows and delivered a beautiful and quality product to the budget.

I was extremely satisfied with IKON's product, team and service. The windows speaks for themselves. Visiting the showroom the IKON hardware was robust and highly functional. The finish is sleek, architectural, minimal but without compromising efficiency. The cost was very appealing. Upon installation the window selection we chose made a huge difference in my home temperature and noise reduction. I couldn't be happier. I was highly satisfied with the work of the Ikon team. If you've ever done construction projects in the NYC area you'll know this is a huge issue. Quite literally 9 out 10 contractor are horrible. IKON rose above and beyond every step of the way. They were responsive, diligent, professional and executed the project with the utmost craftsmanship from start to finish. Their installers are top notch. I consider myself a highly informed consumer with regards to the building trades. IKON gave me complete piece of mind when it came to installation. Lastly, when there were minor issues, the team responded IMMEDIATELY to help resolve. At no point did I feel abandoned after completion. These guys guarantee their work and continue to resolve issues until you are 100% satisfied.

We hired Ikon to replace all the windows in our two story condo apartment. The process of designing and choosing the windows was very smooth, and when the product arrived we were impressed with the quality, especially since Ikon’s price was lower than other bids we received. Now our windows look better, are far less drafty and noisy and more energy efficient. There were hiccups on the way as there always are with construction projects, but we were very happy with Adrian and Sebastian’s responsiveness and commitment to correcting things and finding solutions. Best of all, we were not surprised with added costs and stayed within budget. I have had a lot of frustrating experiences with contractors but glad to say that for this project, I feel we made the right choice.

I cannot say enough great things about Adrian. He was professional, helpful and easy to work with. We purchased 300 windows for our high end residential condo project in Brooklyn and we were very happy with the windows we received. We were on a very tight schedule and he delivered ahead of schedule, which is unheard of in construction. We visited his factory in Europe and was impressed by their operation. Not only did he provide excellent windows that exceeded the department of building requirements in NYC, he was part of our window procurement process every step of the way, including participating in our sound tests with our acoustic consultant to make sure we were getting the windows we wanted. We will definitely work with him again for our next project and am happy to provide further details upon request.
