I am not someone who posts reviews on the internet, particularly negative feedback. But, given how much false information and untrue ads are out there for the “high quality” of Marvin, I have decided to do what is right and post my experience with them on a few websites, such as Houzz.
Four months after we placed the order, Marvin delivered the windows. Some of the windows had obviously been dropped before delivery. Scratches on the outer frames and bumps on the inner side clearly showed that. We noted the issues as they were unloading the windows and took pictures on their truck. They may claim that they have good quality windows, but when they are dropped it basically does not matter anymore as the structure of the windows is certainly compromised. As for customer service, the windows were delivered in April and we notified the vendor and Marvin of the issues immediately as they were still unloading the windows. Four months later, we are still nowhere and nothing has been fixed. They just delivered one wrong frame for a window which we never asked for a fix and they are not even coming to remove it from my property. No word on when they are going to fix the windows. Total mess on their side and non-existing post-sale support.
=== Update of October 2021
I got an email from Marvin regional manager today; and it's the middle of OCTOBER -- 6 months after installation date. They plan to replace the broken sashes -- get ready -- in JANUARY NEXT YEAR. This joke is not even funny. Stay away from this company at all cost. They couldn't care less about you once they have your money.

We spent $63,000.00 buying 38 windows and 4 doors from Marvin. What a colossal waste of money. Many windows arrived shattered and with major cosmetic defects. Those were replaced several times. Soon after we finished building our dream home 6 years ago the string mechanism used to raise and lower the windows began popping off. This inevitably happens in the middle of the night and sounds like a gun shot. We have had to pay to have these repaired multiple times and now have 10 windows with broken parts. It’s just not worth paying or wasting time to repair if they are going to keep breaking. Ironically most of the broken ones are on windows we haven’t ever opened except to clean. This sash cord is so poorly designed it is unbelievable.
In order to lock our kitchen casement window I have to stand on a ladder outside our house and shove it closed.
It all adds up to wasted money, lost sleep and inferior products.

This is the only window brand we recommend to our clients. Superior quality! As with any window, you need to install them correctly. A poor installation will make any window fail--homeowners be aware! These are high quality windows, so make sure you have a certified professional install them for warranty purposes.

Our Marvin Windows are an absolute disaster. We spent over 100k on windows for our house. Ironically our house is designed by the same architect that designed the house on the cover profile for Marvin on Houzz. The Marvin dealer recommended a coating for our house that lets in a crazy amount of heat. At the time of ordering he assured us the coating would make the house comfortable year round. In actual practice our house will hit 100+ F degrees in January and February even when it's -20 F outside. We have to run our AC even in the middle of the winter or open doors and windows to keep it cool. We had to change out our AC unit for a unit that is more then double the size recommend for our house. In the summer we have to close the blinds and the AC unit runs full blast and can barely keep the temperature 5 degrees cooler then outside. The dealer won't do anything for us and when we contact Marvin they say it is between us and the dealer. Looks like our only option is to spend another 100k and switch to Kolbe, or Lowen. The window coating is the largest of many other issues we are having including the fact that one of the garage doors won't lock, the screens on the sliding doors are junk and keep breaking and falling off. Over all poor quality products and even worse service.

We choose to use Marvin Windows in our newly built home. Within 6 months of moving in, we noticed that the exterior cladding on our new Marvin Windows was bubbling up and flaking off. We contacted Marvin Windows and their inspection revealed that we had factory defective windows. Marvin Windows stated that due to a slight change in their manufacturing process, our windows were highly susceptible to delamination. Marvin Windows said that they would send out a 3rd party company to paint our failed windows. We declined and told Marvin Windows that the only acceptable solution was to have our new windows replaced. Marvin Windows refused and said that they would only agree to repaint our windows.
After years of back and forth with Marvin Windows about replacing our windows, we finally had to concede to let them paint them. HUGE MISTAKE. The finish of the 3rd party, on-site painted windows was very tacky, uneven and lumpy, as the windows were not refinished prior to being painted. The finish also proved to be far less durable than the typical factory glass-smooth, baked on finish, as the new paint quickly began to flake off. Also, what Marvin Windows failed to mention prior to the windows being painted is that once the 3rd party refinishing company touched our windows, the original Marvin Window Warranty was voided.
I tried contacting my Marvin Windows Representative, Keirsten Eklie and even President of Marvin Windows, Paul Marvin about these refinishing issues and Marvin Window’s only response was that they “consider the matter closed.”
Marvin Windows: Premium priced product with a worthless Warranty and non-existent Customer Service.

A room with a view. When we design custom homes, the surrounding landscape is always a design consideration. How will you see and interact with the outside spaces. Marvin provides us with so many quality options - colors, sizes and finishes. It's what we choose for the view...

As an architect, I try to use every new project I plan to have with 'Marvin windows and doors'.
I believe that beyond the beauty of the windows and doors, this is a super-quality product that helps isolate the house from the outside temperatures.
Luckily, in my private home there are 'Marvin windows and doors' and I can attest to the quality of the product firsthand.
Highly recommended!

We purchased Marvin windows and doors for new construction because they are supposed to be top of the line through one of their authorized dealerships. We have had nothing but problems and no resolution. For the premium you pay for Marvin I would expect premium support but their customer service is non-existent.
