My builder uses Houzz Pro to plan the timeline and give detailed estimates and daily updates with photos of progress, and provide invoices at pre-agreed key points in the build. This made the whole experience much more efficient and stress-free.

Studio 300A Architecture is focused on design coherence and in place-making. We don’t believe that buildings are stand-alone products to be placed on the land or in a community. Rather they are a highly responsive occurrence, a unique and unrepeatable result of the people who shape and use them, the climate, terrain and the community they continually interact with. We are striving for "somewhereness". This may sound a bit heady or theoretical, but the feeling of a well designed building is quite the opposite; it’s a very primal, solid and visceral experience—and when it’s a part of one’s daily life it can’t help but to underscore the importance of that life. One other thing that is important to us is the notion that good design is not so closely linked with big budgets. In fact, as the years pass we can often see an inverse relationship between the two. Though based in Marin County, CA, we are focused most in small houses through modest means.

Barry Peterson has a unique style of architecture that captures and expresses natural beauty in the homes that he designs. He is not afraid to break out of the traditional ways of putting a house together, and be creative, and innovative in his design. I am a general contractor who has worked with Barry for over the past twenty years. My experience of how he works is that he trusts the ‘organic’ unfolding of the design of a house, allowing the space to take shape informed by his clients, the surrounding land, and the structure already exists. What I appreciate most about Barry is his rich sense of aesthetics, and his ability to see, and bring out the beauty in spaces where people live, making them more livable and more enjoyable.

We have used Barry’s architectural services for a number projects, both big/small and inside/outside. All have exceeded our expectations. The spaces Barry has designed for us are both contemporary, warm & inviting - perfect spots for reading, relaxing, etc.. We have learned through working with Barry that superior design results in a much greater enjoyment of one’s home. I should add that Barry is easy to work with and really listens to his clients’ design wants & needs.

We hired Barry because we saw the beautiful work he has done for so many of our neighbors. I am an interior designer and have worked with many architects so this was a leap for me. Barry has been a DELIGHT to work with. He is smart, professional, timely in his response, flexible, and works well with the other professionals on our project. I have found that architects are often either technical architects or design architects. Barry is a creative design architect first, but all his technical skills are excellent as well. He has done extensive drawings, worked seamlessly with all engineers and contractors, gotten our permits, and made us feel that we have a true advocate throughout the process. I would highly recommend him. You will be so happy you did!
