Hi Heather, it looks like you have an older modular home. Don't despair, paint can help a lot! Used to have one of these myself. :)
Can I see some more pictures from different angles, and of the adjoining room also as there looks to be some cabinetry in there also.

hardware would make an awesome difference in addition to painting. overstock.com has good deals on that sort of thing!

I just fixed up a similar kitchen in my own home...
I painted the cabinets a stark white (so they don't look dirty next to the white appliances), and I put on some modern hardware. I also made all the hardware horizontal to make the space feel a little wider.

I would go with a dark green or olive green as all the white is too blah. You could also go with a color in your floor, but I can't see it well enough to comment on that.

I would either paint the cabinets stark white as Ashley did, or I would paint them a bright green.

you could paint the wall above the counter and above the cabinets and I agree ... new hardware.

I would paint the cabinets a color to give the place some spark. Search around and find some ideas you like and go for it! Here are a few ideas I found for you to consider. Paint all the cabinets the same color.
