Bathroom Fixtures on a budget other than Home Depot/Lowes?

Wife wants to redo all of the fixtures in the three bathrooms in the new house. They currently have all gold fixtures and shower door frames.

This is the line I'm looking at:

I've priced everything out at Home Depot and Lowes and found that for all of the faucets, fixtures, hardware (towel rods, toilet paper holders etc.,) we will come in at about $1000 at Home Depot. I know that Lowe's gives 10% off coupons for new movers however even with that coupon, it doesn't make up for the price difference.

Any suggestions for another possibly cheaper place to pick these up?

I agree with moving away from the "gold" finish but the oil rubbed bronze will be dated before a nickel or stainless in either satin or polished.

There's the initial expense and then there's the longer term expense. Consider which one will stand behind their merchandise. Individual stores may differ in how they execute corporate policy.

I've never had an issue with either Lowes or Home Depot.

You want to make sure you get top quality for the faucets so low price isn't everything. My plumber will not install certain brands from some of those big box stores. If the faucet fails the plumber gets blamed.
Try either Build.com or Faucets Direct. Both carry the higher quality of Delta and Moen. I think they carry the towel bars and other matching accessories. In faucets you get what you pay for. Check online ratings of any products before you buy.

Purchase vintage and have them refurbished. Your money goes a long way at garage sales!

There was a discussion a while back amongst pros on the issue that the Lowes and HD often sell the same brand but the interior workings are cheaper (hence they are able to charge less)... there are some brands that are more reliable than others.....

We decided on Brushed Nickel finish however we are holding off on the fixtures until we are ready to put in a frameless shower door (current frame is gold) *puke*
