Hello Vanessa, Thank you for your question. This staircase was constructed by curving and laminating white oak for the side stringers and center support - no metal was used for support. A structure was built to shape the stringers - I will attach some construction photos. 100-year-old reclaimed timber was used for all the exposed wood. The handrails are leather-wrapped. It was built for us by a Winnipeg company called Wood Anchor.
