How "creative" do you want to get on this?

To be frank，it looks not that creative house. But it'd be a warm home definitely!

What about mid modern century

Use photoshop to remove the decorative timbers. Start by removing the two diagonal boards. Then do a version with no decorative timbers at all. Experiment with the paint colors in your ideabook photos.

Where's the entry? I love the grillwork on the garage. Here's a thought. Use the materials in the photo of the attached house. For example, cover the lower exterior with slate. Use stained horizontal wood on the left part of the house and light gray stucco on the right. Flat awning above the windows, metal standing seam roof in black or red.

It's a tunnel entry home...common for the area.

Congratulations! I would want to stay as true to the original home but put a modern twist on it. Have you researched the home's original builder? Do you know if this home's nod to the tudor is original? I love the wrought iron gate, it is quintessential to your home, I would use it to set the tone of the whole facade. How feasible is it to do a Juliet balcony with the same design on the top right room, where the simple windows/glass front doors would open for a bit of access to the outside when weather permits? I would have it go from end to end of the whole section, thereby creating balance to the home. The garage door and left top window could echo the glass pattern of the windows/doors. Would love to know what your plan is for the whole home. The streets of the outer sunset have lots of concrete, a significant low maintenance, low water tree and plantings that will stand up to the weather would soften the hard edges and provide a clue to the home's front entry. Good choice. You could paint the grille white and the rest of the house black and garage door black or you could leave the timbers white and trim white. Maybe someone can do a mock up of that.

This would be a great design project. To convert a traditional style like a Tudor into a Modern cottage, how fun! It looks like it sits among a row of houses. A creative design would allow you to personalize your home within the neighborhood. If you are not changing the form, start with a mixture of modern materials such as glass and steel...maybe some translucent panels? Downplay the brick or replace. Creative colors would be a great way to accent the design too. I hope this helps.

I like the black and brick! The Sunset has a very cool and is especially "anything goes". Creativity and difference . . . . the best part of San Francisco
