Hey there - looking for some flooring and counter top suggestions that are cost-effective but updated. Have honey maple cabinets and these are staying. Floor in kitchen goes through to front entrance, laundry and garage entry way. Have a large island -8'x4'. The formal dining room is off one side of kitchen, the family room is open at the other end. Kitchen has been recently painted and I love the color. I am leaning towards a dark floor and counter top with lighter backsplash. Have more of a traditional taste... Table and chairs have enormous sentimental value and must stay in the kitchen.
