DIYer trying to recreate my bedroom after this design. Need help!

Hi Trent, I have finally chosen on design, them & color to re-model/decorate every room in my home and I'm starting with my own bedroom. I've chosen this design to try and recreate the best I can. I have some obstacles I'm facing since I'm doing this all myself on a limited budget as a single mom. Obstacle #1 - I rent not own so I'm limited on how much I can change. #2 - I've turned the laundry room into my room so none of my kids would have to share a room. Ages & gender would make things very uncomfortable for them..lol. #3 - I had started on a different idea of "I dream of Jeannie" but it got too overwhelming, but I had already painted the walls. They are now "Soft Amethyst" purple and the wainscoting bottom I painted "Dark French Chocolate Plum". #4 - I currently have a ceiling fan/light installed in the middle of the room and a utility type ceiling light is installed above the appliances. #5 - The ceiling is a popcorn ceiling. #6 - It is/was laundry room so the eyesore of those 2 appliances obviously..lol. #7 - There is no closet so I use 2 clothes racks/shelving units. Any help or advice is greatly appreciated :)

A possible solution for your popcorn ceiling may be stretch ceiling. It may or may not be within your budget. I recommend calling us for a quote.

Removing popcorn is not just very messy, but in older homes there is also a danger of exposing yourself to asbestos.. Anything oil based also carries the danger of exposure to VOCs, and oil-based finishes also harm the environment more than water based ones.

There is a better solution. We're talking no mess, no dust, no toxic vapours (in fact, no vapours at all), with a finish as smooth as a mirror and unlimited design options. It's called stretch ceiling. A fully recyclable membrane is stretched across the ceiling, either over an existing ceiling, or in a new build, instead of installing drywall and covering it with popcorn. Tracks, or profiles, screwed into the walls or existing ceiling around the edges hold the membrane in place. These profiles and the membrane take up less than one inch of room height. Don't worry if your ceiling is angled, stretch ceiling can be installed over it just the same. We also install over multi-level ceilings, and can make and follow curves, both up and down, and sideways.

If you later desire a change, a new membrane can be inserted into the same tracks, or the tracks can be unscrewed and the screw holes easily filled with a little bit of filler. You will not need to do this as maintenance, however. The system lasts a lifetime.
