Since we are a custom cabinet builder I'd love to see you put up cabinets, but until you are ready for a remodel, making a giant bulletin board (since your tiny one is a bit crowded and I see a list taped to the wall at left) or painting the wall in magnetic chalkboard paint could be a fun way or organizing your notes and lists.

thanks that's a great idea... the (list) at the laft of bulletin board is actually an outlet. The main thing I will miss will be the under cabinet cubbie area for mail, keys etc.
I do look forward to that kitchen remodel maybe in a year...

Two Ikea floating shelves. Inexpensive, easy, will look fabulous in that space and give you back your cubbies.

I think open shelving above would be great. You could use a cute box for mail and a bowl or hooks for keys. Either a bulletin board or a magnetic chalkboard below would be really cute. You could use reclaimed wood for the shelves if you liked the look or even glass. Sorry I don't quite know your style from the picture. Here are some inspirational photos I think could work. I personally think you have a great opportunity to make a cool focal point add some color, or cool molding or nail-head details. Also now you have room for a great lamp! My only other though would be to do a mirror with the open shelving... Again I don't know your style, but have fun with it!

hmmm that sounds nice,,, maybe the floating shelves with some chalkboard paint underneath where the bulletin board was. It might look better than the old cabinets anyway! Thank you

wow this is starting to get fun. I was so frustrated when it fell down, but maybe it was actually a good reason to make a great update in that area. My House is pretty contemporary with mostly clean straight lines.

You could add some wire mail baskets next to the bulletin board like this....and the list I was seeing is around the corner from the outlet? :-) Have fun with it!
