Stainless appliances

Are stainless appliances hard to keep shiny. I am really picky about keeping fingerprints, grease, etc. off my appliances. I am getting ready to remodel kitchen and am leaning towards white/ivory or black appliances. Would like your experience and opinions.

I have them in my kitchen and haven't noticed it being too difficult to keep them shiny. I just spray and wipe them down periodically. I feel like it is no more difficult than keeping smudges from kids' hands from showing up on my white appliances.
