The walls should be in eggshell, the walls need to be wiped down. Ceilings are usually in flat paint,but the ceiling is 1/4 of your room and if it is painted as the trim it will make the trim disappear. I always have the ceiling painted a color to work with the overall scheme and color palette.

Consider a matte finish for the public rooms including kitchen, eggshell for bath and child's rooms.
