Updating a 1979 home!!

I just purchased a great house, but it's truly dated, with wood trim, paneling, doors, popcorn ceilings and a funky wall treatment in the entryway. I've already had all the wallpaper removed, repainted the ceilings and walls, and tiled the bathrooms. Now I need to deal with this wood trim. Should I continue the painting and get all the trim done? I will eventually sell it...I think.

If you have painted wood trim everywhere else I would continue throughout the entire house- as for the kitchen if the cabinets are in good shape and perhaps a cabinet marker can fix any slight imperfections, I would be tempted to leave them and change out hardware, counters, floors and appliances- murphy's is awesome for cleaning wood cabinets- I would not add hardware to center of cabinets that will make it look 1970's for sure. If that counter is real wood, then I would be tempted to do paint on the cabinets and leave the counter though and still change hardware and flooring.

Painting the cabinets will make a huge impact! I would opt for a light grey or warm white. Good luck!

I don't mind them either. I think the counter is too dark and floor and appliances are dated. If you changed these out and added new hardware, it would look much better.

you are inquiring about wood trim and showing us cabinets. . .yes, paint these cabinets, and one way to make them sort of mod is to putty the current hardware holes, and put ring pulls in the center. .. definitely not white, but not mid tone either - a soft warm gray or dark white . . .
You can paint a vinyl floor if you are cautious about prep .. it will last . . test sw worldly gray . . a great neutral with your other white trim

Yes the wood IS in good shape, it's mostly the dark finish and it's a little worn off. The hardware is dated so replacement is a good option too. I like the arched panels in the cabinets and don't think they're too dated. Below is bathroom vanity cabinet that's been a trial piece.

Okay, you aren't goind mod, you like traditional. Great painting job on the bath cabinets . . love the distressing. With that salmon wall color, and the metal bakers rack . . .what about a soft pearl grey tone on the cabinets? The creamy off white on the bathroom wood would work nicely too . . congrats on your new space and loving it enough to make it pretty again.
