king size bed

This is an embarrassing question, but how do I properly make up a king size bed? 3 euro shams, 2 standards...? thanks

Make sure you buy king size sleeping pillows and shams, otherwise you will not cover the full width of the bed. When looking for comforter, duvet or sham, know whether you have a cal king or regular king. Also, should know the height of your bed if you are going to use a skirt, top of box spring to the floor. This really depends a lot on what type of bed you have. Do you have the bed yet? If yes, what kind is it?

thank you ... i have the bed. regular king, and it fits an 18 in drop bed skirt. my pillows are king, but the bedding that i wanted to buy has standard and euro shams only. i could easily replace my 2 king pillows w 3 standard since i usually have at least one of my children in bed in the morning. all the "standard" set ups seem to be with a queen or full.

Ok, I really like to have a king size sham on a king bed because I don't like the sleeping pillow to show on the outside edges. I suppose this could be personal preference. Ideally, I like a king size pillow and sham with a coverlet. Throw pillows go in front of shams. I usually fold a duvet down at he foot of the bed for colder nights which is rare in Los Angeles. I like pattern on the duvet and a solid on the coverlet. Hope this helps. Good look with your bedding project. Charmean Neithart

I usually do three Euros (and hide the actual sleeping pillows behind them) with two kind size shams in front. Add a cylindrical bolster for the most up-to-date look. : )

If you use 2 king size shams what size pillows can you put in front? Would two pillows that are 24 x 24 too big?

I have a king duvet and my only options are standard shams or 26 X 26 EURO shams. I have king size sleeping pillows so I don't know what to do in front of them. Is three EURO shams my best option? They don't make a king sham that matches my duvet. The duvet is paisley so would using solid king shams from somewhere else work? Thanks!

Would anyone have a pic of how 3 euro shams, 2 king shams would look? I have 2 euros and it looks weird. What " should " it look like?

Hi so I recently looked at my moms bed arrangement to see how she did it for a calif king which would clearly work for a regular king. She has 2 king pillows than in front of them and fully hiding them she has 3 euro shams that are a solid color that goes with the duvet but is not the exact matching euro to the duvet. Than in front of the 3 euros she has 2 standard shams that are the exact match to the duvet. I would think, especially on a cal king that the standard would be too small but it looks perfect. Some may prefer to have 2 king shams in front if the euros but if the duvet you want doesn't offer them than the standards will be more than fine and may be preferable. More and more only standard and euros are available so clearly it's thought that standard are just as good if not better since they don't even offer the king sham. Hope this helps! You can also get matching euro Shans to the duvet. Play around and see what you like and whether you want decorative pillows since beds can easily look great without them.

We get feedback that people love the way our shams cover the ENTIRE bed from left to right - so they hide the sheets which aren't always "made up".

You can accomplish this with 2 king custom shams with a FLANGE. The width of a king mattress is 6'6", so 2 king pillow shams won't cover the entire bed unless they have a flange.

Here's a photo of shams we made with a flange

For those who don't like removing lots of pillows every night, you can just have 3 Euro shams OR two kings shams --- instead of both.
