Kitchen appliance choices, conflicting reviews/value for dollar?

We are in total remodel, have luxury of designing kitchen, (floorplan same, however), my biggest struggle is appliances, i can have no larger than 42" fridge freezer and have opted for thermador columns (sub zero not available. Best cooktop, hate look of thermador. Best oven, is wolfe that much better than termador or thermador that much better than kitchenaide?

I love my Bertazzoni 6 burner gas stove with convection oven I also have kitchenaid double wall ovens that I adore so It pays to really check out what you need from each appliance instead of just getting all matching stuff that doesn't function.

I can only have a cooktop or range top. I frankly don't see the value of the Wolfe or thermador double wall ovens (convection) over the kitchenaide. For more than double the price. I can no longer bend to lift heavy items from low oven (back injury) and am space limited so cooktop only. Thank you.

Bertazzoni makes a cooktop too. I think a lot of these appliances are crazy expensive and do not function any better. What I love about my Kitchen-Aid ovens is they are so well insulated that I can have them both going in the heat of summer and they don't heat up my house.

What matters for most home chefs is the amount of BTU's produced for getting the high heat needed for more "professional" result. I work on very high end homes along the southern california coast and frequently the choice is made to purchase a very high end appliance because it is en vogue, not because it is the best one. I have many clients that don't cook, but want the "name" appliance anyway. I believe that you should purchase what is the best value for your money and what is affordable.
