We are remodeling our original master bath from the 70's (a previous homeowner built an addition with a different master suite and this is now just our main bathroom downstairs) and the shower room with toilet is separate from the vanity & sink. The shower room is quite small and has a door entering from the vanity area and a door entering from the guest bedroom. In addition to installing a new tub and toilet, we are tiling the surround and then tiling halfway up the wall behind and to the side of the toilet. Originally, we had intended to tear out the old recessed silver toilet paper holder that is next to the toilet, but when I thought about the size of the room with two doors and a small section of wall it makes me wonder if I should be keeping that recessed toilet paper holder (as opposed to a free standing holder or one of the ones that adheres to the wall). I am conflicted because the look seems dated, but the toilet area is so small that an adult sitting on that toilet doesn't have much wiggle room on the right side and a paper holder that isn't recessed is probably just going to rest in someone's thigh at some point. Suggestions?
