The nook looks like a perfect place for a window seat, you could even use a small table that could be moved in and out of the area if needed.

Yes! Here is the mess I currently have going

You have a beautiful home with lots of light and a great coffered ceiling! I would put the sofa (like a Levin sofa from Room and Board) on the wall opposite the front door (facing the windows), a round table in the corner, and two slipper chairs on the adjacent wall. I don't know how long the wall is going all the way across the living room through the dining room but another side table on the left side of the sofa would bring symmetry. In the alcove, I would put a corner desk with a chair that you could swing around for use if you needed extra seating. On the desk, you could have a large flower arrangement that would be nice to view from the outside, too. Just inside the front door you could have a chair and ottoman (if there is space for the ottoman) with wood details (like the Scarlette at Bassett) to draw in the wood from your table in the dining room. Lighting on the side tables and on the desk. Area rug that fits the living room space, not extending to in front of the front door, like the staging people had it. Just some more ideas for you!
