I recently upgraded upstairs floor to dark brown high quality laminate wood flooring. Unfortunately I was not able to get enough for the stairs(the molding was an issue) so I painted those stairs a similar shade to the upstairs floor. I would like to change the downstairs to tile or travertine(I live in FL and it's just easier to deal with...have 2 ACTIVE boys and big dog). I was thinking a light tile/travertine(ivory?) with dark brown veining. Would this look too "patched together"? Not sure about resale also. HELP!!
