Update this 1970s living room

Buying this great house built in 1970. We are looking for ways to modernize this house. Here is just the living area. Great windows and stone but dated. Will take out drapes but struggling with window treatment ideas. Beautiful private backyard so want to enjoy view but still be able to get privacy.
